eMachines = good, cheap, but you have to sell your soul to get them (usually only sold at WalMart). Like Hyundai, they have recently refocused themselves on making quality stuff, and are now very reliable.
NO. No. NO. And let me repeat no! My sister had an eMachine and had nothing but hell. The thing would randomly shut down, stay in start-up mode, or just freeze. They sent it in to get service at least 4 times! in 18 months. It may have been more but, I know it was at least four because they qualified for a replacement under Washington State's lemon laws.
In addition if it is only sold at Walmart it wont be a good quality. Walmart tells their suppliers what cost they want to buy a product for and the company is left to figure out how to cut cost to get there. Cut costs (a lot of times) = poor quality
Buy a Dell, buy an IBM...just don't buy one of these sketchy machines.
