Incoming 1Ls / The Withdrawal Method: Honesty Best Policy?
« on: April 02, 2006, 04:19:43 PM »
I am sending out withdrawals -- is it bad form or is it helpful to be honest about why we're no longer interested in their school?

Financial Aid / Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, I hate you all...
« on: March 27, 2006, 06:13:28 PM »
So, I'm checking my credit history for the first time before I apply for student loans... since I've had no previous reason to.

According to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion
I apparently have a mortgage and a beach house.  News to me.  It would be nice if I owned said beach house because then I could sell it ... but it may be hard to take out an additional $150,000 in loans with my mortgage.  I'm freaking 22 and I don't own anything.  I think they've got me confused with one of my relatives, and I anticipate this being a big pain to clear up.

Anyone else having trouble with credit report surprises from these stupid companies?

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / W&M Law Camp?

What is it?

If I go to W&M do I want to go to it?  Anyone know anything more about it than what they sent out in the email?

Choosing the Right Law School / Advice? GWU vs. UNC, W&M
« on: March 01, 2006, 09:24:10 AM »
I'm really attracted to international law and environmental law, but also may want to stay connected to N.C. state politics.  Haven't decided whether or not I want to practice in N.C. (I'm here currently) but know I definitely will be working afterwards in D.C., Virginia or NC area.

Financial aid packages may play a role in the decision, but I'd love input on anyone on factors like reputation (I think I get a skewed perception where I'm from), social life, atmosphere, opportunities after grad, academic programs, etc.

Current choices are William and Mary ($$), George Washington and UNC.  And then there's the prayer for a waitlist move at UVa.
