I'm actually going to go against the grain and tell you to wait a year and apply to some lower T2 schools very early in the next application cycle. With your numbers, you can get into some decent T2s and manage some scholarship money out of them. Just from the rumblings on this board, it seems to me that GG isn't a very good school on the west coast and your opportunities would be very limited graduating from there. Check out LSN, believe me, you can get into some better schools. Good luck.

Go to Penn. If it was higher up on your list at some point I would just go there. While I've never been much of a rankings nazi, I would always make an exception for a T14 school. Your opportunities at BIGLAW would be 10x greater coming out of Penn and you'll be able to work pretty much anywhere. As for money, you can always earn scholarships after your first year. As for the money Duke gave you, if there are conditions attached, you should always assume you'll lose it so there's no guarantee you'll have that 14K after the first year. The east coast may take a little getting used to for someone who is new in the area, but after a year you'll get used to it- keep in mind, it's only for 3 years after which you're free to go back to the mid-west. Besides, Philly (PA) isn't too bad compared to the other states on the east coast (NY, NJ) that really give a bad rep to the area. Good luck.

agreed. i'm not much of a phone person myself. it's a lot easier to just message someone- no awkward pauses. Majestic, you'll definitely get your fill of flirtation- myspace is loaded with folks whose sole purpose on that site is to flirt/hookup. have fun creating your profile!
that was the second best part of the site for me.

well I made a law group for people going to my law school on myspace and it has been pretty nice seeing classmates and speaking with them before classes start up- that's pretty much the only good thing about it. other than that, it's a total hookup spot and that's all...i mean, i freakin stipulated on my profile that I'M NOT HERE TO HOOKUP and yet I still get like 20 messages a day from people trying to hookup with their cornball lines...myspace people are pervy nutcases.

I agree with Shaz here.
My opinion is when it comes to tier 3 vs. tier 4, rankings matter very little (if at all)- it's all about location location location. If you want to work in Philly Widener is the obvious way to go. Duq doesn't place as well in Philly as Widener.

Sorry to hear about your terrible experience- as a new yorker, i know TONS of out of towners that get confused by the subway system so the lateness should've been completely understood and they should've taken better care of you and your dad ESPECIALLY if they're expecting you to shell out $60K a year (you should've had freakin' caviar and pinot grigio awaiting you). Those actions speak volumes about the administration there. I think you made the right choice in choosing Hofstra- as I stated earlier in the thread. Good luck there in the Fall.

Rejected by my own school (S. Carolina). Still have a chance at Charleston though. S. Carolina said that I could transfer with a 3 or higher.
i was rejected by my own school as well. i felt more rejected than at any time i can remember. then i developed a major case of resentment. yesterday i graduated and all i could think of was that i love my school and don't want to leave.
even though i have a full ride i would gladly give it up to attend MY school.
i know how you feel, but honestly i have seen that multiple degrees from the same school are not as well regarded, for some reason. i think it's a 'broadening' issues, according to some recruiters i've talked to. best of luck, though, shaz!
I agree. My UG actually stated this as a reason why they actually discourage their UG students from applying to their LS. They will actually make it a point to reject their UG students when they do apply to the LS.
