I too am interested in this info- particularly for Duquesne, Suffolk, Franklin Pierce, and NESL.

Thanks!

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Sick of waiting

I'm totally with you. I am literally sick to my stomach- I swear I feel like I'm gonna throw up come noon everyday (that's when I get my mail) and then when I don't hear anything I'm so upset to the point that I have to go lay down cuz if I don't I'll break stuff and start crying :'(. I don't know if I can take weeks more of this...I really hate not knowing anything and thus having no control of my life. Not cool.

are you talking about the boston one where the recent grad (i think she had just graduated i don't remember) had a few interviews with a firm and then emailed them to say she wasn't taking the job because it wasn't enough money? (among other things) and then the lawyer said he already had business cards and stuff made. and she said a real lawyer would have gotten the acceptance in writing.

that one?

yes that's the "blah blah blah" Diana Abdullah story- the OP is asking about another e-mail incident. I'd be interested in hearing about this Skadden case too cuz it's news to me.

Yeah... while we're on the subject, the University of Illinois requires a $500 seat deposit (most of the schools I've gotten into are in the $200-250 range) and another one of $500 later.  Any reason why theirs would be comparatively so high?

I definitely think $500 now and another $500 later is a bit on the steep side- what I consider "normal" is ~$200 now and ~$300 later totalling around $500. $1000 total for a SEAT DEPOSIT is a bit ridiculous- it could be justifiable, however, if that $1000 is applied to the tuition for the fall which I hear is the practice at some schools...

To the OP, I'm totally with you on the BS known as seat deposits- $300-$500 can go a LONG way for us students...Anyway, I actually read of people talking to the institution to which they've been offered admissions and working out a payment plan on the seat deposits (i.e. $50 due at the deadline and the rest due in installments at pre-set dates)- you'd be surprised to find some schools are very understanding of the predicament of having to wait for other schools' decisions while having the deposit deadlines just around the corner (I doubt T14's give a crap but some T2-T4's, yes). The application process is VERY expensive for some of us and if you plead your case in the right way, some schools may be able to help you out.

Good luck.

I'm in the same boat and it's madly frustrating since I would like to get this show on the road...I figure it's because I only sent in my application a week ago...I called the admissions office on Friday and the assistant informed me that applications come in in batches and that mine (even though it was sent online the week before) had just been "received" this past Friday. So there is unfortunately some lag time and therefore also a delay in cashing those application fee checks. She says your report won't be requested until the check clears...
