Minority and Non-Traditional Law Students / Re: URM?

my father is 100% native american but i don't have documentation for myself. if asked for it, will my father's birth certificate/documents suffice? :-\

hey guys,
i am new here and i really do not fully understand the URM process. I have read a few posts that mention that being a certain URM raises you "score". Is this your LSAT score? My mother is puerto rican and my father is Native American (100%)..how will this affect my score? my stats are 3.63/155

also how are my chances at my reach school (boalt) with my stats and URM status? any response would be appreciated because the whole URM thing mystifies me.

can i join?

3.63 (UGPA)/155 LSAT

*hides face in shame* hopefully my GOA isn't too low for this group!

I'm applying to Santa Clara, Pepperdine, and Boalt (reach!!) but hopefully my background (grew up in inner city) and URM status helps a bit so I can start in 2006. Otherwise I'll have to try to take the LSAT again. :'(

^^i totally agree...i really don't expect them to let me know this quickly...it's just the anxiety is killing me! however i do feel that if they've already thrown your app in the reject bin they should let you know ASAP so you can stop worrying and move on.

nesnut i'm in the same situation you are. I have a 3.67/156 but I am a URM (mother is puerto rican and father is 100% native american) So part of me feels that i should not get my hopes up even though being a URM ususally lengthens the amount of time they sit on your application. but i'm starting to get crazier everyday. I was complete january 25th...how much longer will i be waiting??? :-[
