I will be in my 30s by the time I get out of law school (if I ever make it to law school...), and law will be my 2nd career. I currently work in IT.

When did you last communicate with them? I haven't called since I got the latest letter (end of May). Once I did the math, I realized thier class was already too full, and would take a lot of withdrawls for them to go to the PWL. I'm still hanging in there, though... Just got back from Cleveland to look for apts. Case is not in a very nice area. I think they are trying their best to move up in the rankings--they are one of the schools that really seem to be benefiting from the trickle down of applicants w/ good GPAs and LSATs that are getting dinged at the tier one schools. My application wasn't in until well after their deadline and I got in w/ money. I received letters from both Case and Rutgers. 45
General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: increase private loan certification amount« on: July 16, 2004, 10:32:40 PM »so are you guys saying that instead of using my savings to pay for the 1st year, and then taking out loans 2nd and 3rd years, that I should take out loans all three years and use my savings as backup to pad my living expenses budget? That's what I plan to do. Luckily, I've also got a 401K and retirement I can pull from, but only as backup and only as an emergency. There are other loans you can get - I remember from a while back there was a lot of information about non-certified private loans you can get to supplement what the school certifies. The interest rates are higher and it may be more likely to need a cosigner. These just aren't gotten through your school's financial aid office. 46

She's being used as a scapegoat because of her celebrity. It doesn't really matter than she hasn't really done what the media is making her out to have done. That's why it's ridiculous that she's being treated as a person who ran over a kid while driving drunk when all she did was run a stop sign. It's riduculous, and I don't like it, but my cynical eyes and ears are not surprised she is being treated this way.
I am indeed surprised by it because she did nothing that constitutes corporate scandal. 49

My mom and I dating the same guy? Only slightly less creepy than Woody and Sun Yi. Martha - love ya and support ya and think you got screwed and all, but: getting with your daughter's man? Eww. |
