We might be the only country without of substantial part of the population that hates americans.

Er, I guess to be more serious, our national ideology is deliberately pro-diversity. I mean we obviously have our social issues, but we don't have an adverse feeling towards other nations as part of our "national" thought process...

You must not encounter alot of the same people I do :\

It's too late at night to comment on the rest of your post, but I just wanted to point out that a person who speaks English, Spanish, and French does not have 'all of the Americas top to bottom'. There's also that little chunk of land we call Brazil. :)

That said, I'm a hispanic with pretty white skin. Shame on the ad comms if they don't ask for "brown-skinned hispanics" if that's what they really want. They DO ask, however, "White - non-hispanic."  Oh yeah, and I speak English and Spanish fluently, and was able to "latch on" to French when I was young. I speak Italian, too. By my count that's 4, but it still wasn't enough to overcome my cumulative GPA. I don't think I have a point. Just sayin'.

Oh yeah, I am planning to study Portuguese next. That way I really can conquer all of the Americas top to bottom. Haha.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: American vs. U of Houston w/ POLL!

Your second post is very insightful, thank you.

I personally like a little competition/fire (not too much) and I feel a little uncomfortable when everyone is being super nice. Everyone at UH was very friendly and nice, although I did go for ASD so that might have just been them selling the school.  They did mention that there are a few intense professors. Our tour group was told a story about how one professor made a girl cry on the first day.   :'(  I bet all schools have their share of intense and not intense professors though.

Isn't the WCL deposit deadline on the 16th?  Well, mine is, and I'm planning on mailing it out early next week.  Despite my soft spot for Houston, I'm leaning towards WCL also.  I will most likely see you next year.

There is a difference between having intense professors (which I love!) and having ultra-competitive classmates. I guess it's just the nature of law schools that give grades/rank their students (because the worse someone else does, the better you do!). I just would prefer that to be towards the back of people's minds rather than towards the front. Personal preference, however.

WCL deposits due the 16th, yes. I will be submitting mine through the website on Monday. If I don't change my mind between now and then (and I'm 99% sure that I won't), then I'll be in DC come August! :::excited::: I hope you join us!

Okay, I made up my mind tonight. American it is. I will be sending in my seat deposit on Monday. I guess Monday is when it will really be official. I'm excited, though!

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: American and Living in DC

So I think I just found a really good 4 bedroom house that is available on August 1 and is right near the law school.  If I end up going to American [a likelihood] I am definitely interested.  Anyway, if any other girls [or guys, too] who think they're going to WCL think they might be interested in this place [and in living with me] then PM me so we can get to know each other!

Here're at least two people who are interested:,85797.0.html
