Choosing the Right Law School / Re: GW or Emory w/25k?
« on: May 02, 2006, 07:45:00 AM »
If you want DC or NYC or Boston it can be done, but will be much harder than coming out of GW.

I dont think it will be *much* harder, it might be a little more difficult (i think the 75k less they will be in debt will make up for this, however), but emory has excellent ties to those markets, if thats where you want to work. I want to stay in the south, so placement in those markets really isnt an issue for me.

If you're the person whose LSN site I saw, my guess is Emory is giving you all that money a)based on merit and b) because you're Asian, and at some southern schools, that probably qualifies as "underrepresented."

HA that's funny, I think the asian population at southern schools (i go to UF) is the same at most schools in the US (with the exception of cali, oregon, and washington), but im an engineering major, so my viewpoint might be skewed.

I was in the same situation, it came down to GW and Emory for me. Then emory threw me some dinero (20k/year) and that made the decision for me. If i were you i would go with emory.

maybe a cs or computer engineering major can correct me on this one, but shouldnt we be concerned with the amount of cache a system has as well, because you could have a lighting fast cpu, but if you have a minimal amout of cache then that fast of a cpu is worthless.

i am getting a degree in industrial and systems engineering, with a minor in mathematics. When i graduated high school i was a great writer ... and now, lets just say it took me three months to write my personal statement. I am very worried. I am worried that i wont be able to write a brief, or any type of document. *sigh* i guess we'll see.
