I have to agree with brianD. It seems as though most of the people on this discussion board are in love with UGA and have a bitter taste in their mouths for Emory.
First, UGA is not better then Emory if you want to practice law in the southeast. We all know if you want to practice law in the northeast Emory is your best bet (which should automatically make it a better choice then UGA). However, I am from Florida and have done plenty of research (i.e. speak with attorneys, law professors, and law students) and have never heard that UGA has any kind of pull or better reputation then Emory in FLA, as a matter of fact I have heard the opposite. So in FLA (which is in the southeast) Emory has the advantage over UGA.
Second, most of us are concerned about job prospects. So I went to princetonreview.com to compare the two schools, Emory got an 87 career rating and UGA got a 78. Princeton Review seems to think Emory grads have better career prospects then UGA grads, unlike most of the people on this site.
Third, for all of us out of state applicants, the price difference between the two is not that great and the difference in job prospects makes this small difference even less important. However, if I was a GA resident I could see the lure of UGA and donít blame those who may choose it over Emory. (Hell I havenít got my scholarship offer from Emory yet so I donít know where I stand financially).
I am showing Emory love because it's a great school. I might be there next year, I might not. I just had to stop the Emory bashing and the uber UGA praising, because it was getting a bit ridiculous.
(Who wants to be a bulldog anyways? GO GATORS!) had to throw that in ;-)
