I chose BU with a large scholarship over Cornell with no $$.  It was a tough decision but I love boston and want to live here when I'm done!

Where should I go next fall? / Re: advice

I got into Cornell, BU (w/$$) and GW with a 166/3.71 so you have a great shot!  However, like another poster said, I was rejected at BC!  I should have gotten in without a problem so was very surprised but you should definitely apply anyways.  (I'm loyal to BU anyways and wouldn't have gone there over BC ever so it's possible they gathered that.)  Good luck!

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Refund Check
« on: July 03, 2006, 09:22:47 AM »
Talk to your school's financial aid office.  Usually, you can have the paperwork processed prior to the first day of classes (which is the earliest day you can pick up the refund check.)  That way, you shouldn't have any delays.

I took the June LSAT last year and got my results mid Saturday afternoon if that helps!

Wait List / Re: Michigan waitlist letter

That and location.  I want to be in Boston anyways and I asked around.  Most lawyers in Boston thought BU with that kind of scholarship was pretty close to Cornell w/tons of debt.  It was a tough decision though and I went back and forth for months.

Wait List / Re: Michigan waitlist letter

Honestly, I was surprised they didn't just reject me so no worries. It would have taken a lot for me to change my plans like that anyways at this point.

Wait List / Michigan waitlist letter

I got a letter yesterday from Michigan releasing me from its waitlist.  Not too surprising considering what I've been reading but wondering if others got this as well?

Financial Aid / Re: Grad PLUS

Grad Plus is not affected by EFC because it is not need-based.  Only cost less aid affects the amount a student can borrow.

Financial Aid / Re: Cancelling/Transfering a stafford loan?
« on: May 18, 2006, 12:01:15 PM »
This happens all the time.  If you're going to attend another school, cancel whatever paperwork you've already started.  Also, when you officially withdraw from your original school, the financial aid office will cancel your aid automatically.
