Law School Admissions / Re: Call from Harvard
« on: March 13, 2006, 04:25:46 PM »
I just had the call as well- called around 645pm EST first, but I missed him (I was on the subway)- he called back around 7:10, and we talked about 11 or 12 minutes.  He was like most everyone else has described here; businesslike but still pleasant.

Now that it's done, I've thought of about five more things I could've said or elaborated on, but still, glad I got that done!  Let the waiting begin...

Yale- I almost certainly wouldn't have gotten in, but I guess it was worth a shot.

These are from the admitted students weekend?

It looks like a really nice place- I wish I could have gone.

ooohhhh, just realized it's admit weekend at hls, which would explain the lack of a phone call even though he e-mailed on thursday...

Yeah I was wondering about that too.  We can rest easy until tomorrow (that's when it ends, right?)

And to answer the question from someone above, yes I am also an URM (I checked the "other" box and explained).

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Re: Michigan Alumni Reception
« on: March 09, 2006, 10:28:23 PM »
I'll be going to the Boston reception.  I don't really know what to expect- the good part is that we're already accepted, so it'll be the alumni doing the selling of Michigan to us.  I've no idea about the dinner.

I got the "status change" email and the phone call on the same day, the letter about a week after.

Law School Admissions / Re: Anyone apply to Harvard and not Yale?

I skipped Yale, because my 250-word essay was total crap.  And because I don't really like New Haven.  And I had absolutely no chance whatsoever anyway.
