Next Step for Accepted Students, click here. To return to this page, use your browser's Back button..

click there, try to log into GoSolar - it didnt work since I am already attending for my MBA, but I have heard it lets you in as 1st year professional student if you are accepted.

Good luck, the wait is terrible.....

Incoming 1Ls / Re: Is a JD/MBA worth it?
« on: February 13, 2006, 10:01:29 AM »
This is the question I am battling.  I have 6 yrs finance exp, 1/3 done with my MBA (part time, GSU), and have been accepted to the law school (also GSU).  Now I am thinking about dropping the MBA, mostly because I am worried about missing summer clerkships, having to take summer classes, and falling out of my section.  Overall, I think it forces you into a non-trad role, and I am almost willing to drop what I have already finished to "get into the swing" of LS.

I think it will help set you apart upon grad, maybe not for more $ than the other hires, but for a better position than you would have gotten without it.  On the other hand, with no summer work, who will hire you?

Not trying to talk you out of it, trying to talk myself into it.....

The online status does work, mine got updated yesterday.  A call to the admissions office revealed that my letter is being mailed today.  Unfortunately, Deferred and Waitlist are also decisions, so I will have to see.....

Commuting between the 2 is just generally a bad idea.  I live NE of Atlanta, and the traffic will be terrible.  I suggest if you need to go to school in Athens, you live there.  Apartments are cheap and you can see each other on weekends.  I am hoping to get into UGA and my wife will stay in Atlanta, thereby minimizing each of our commutes.  Traffic is terrible...  As stated earlier in this thread, I would not be surprised to have 2 hours each way for each of you.  I honestly suggest you get 2 different apartments and spend time together on weekends.

just my $0.02
