I was accepted to a few schools that had this policy regarding transfers-- and I think it is a policy designed to scare people off from transferring-- I didn't have a competitive LSAT compared to my class at those schools, but I got in anyway.

Transferring / Re: Considering Transfer [need advice]

I transferred from a Top 50 to a Top 20, and it's made a huge difference in terms of my career prospects. Transfer up if you can, but make sure it's a place you'll be happy with. If you're planning to stay in GA to practice, I'd recommend staying put.

If you can make it into a T10 or T14, go for it. However, I'm thrilled with my new school-- honestly, one of the best gambles/decisions I've ever made. I'm getting opportunities here that I simply would not have had.

I'm so bummed we're not living here next year. My roommate doesn't have a car and wants to be closer to campus. We're looking around the Village.

Did you go the Public Interest Auction? That was amazing!!! Can't believe they auctioned off dinner with Ben!

I love the Grove, and I think it is reasonable $ for the area. Nashville is more expensive than I thought it would be, rent-wise!

Anyway, LOVE the Grove. It's less than 3 miles from campus, gated, swimming pools, work out room, friendly people-- I've never once needed to call maintenance but they're always coming around to replace A/C filters, etc. It's a really quiet community, and there are a lot of law students that live here (as well as other grad students and professionals).

Where should I go next fall? / Re: FSU v. UF

That being said, the only thing I hate more than UF is FSU.

Hater!

Nah. What it really comes down to is a dislike of G'ville and Tallahassee. The schools themselves can't help that they are located in a pit.

Call Fin Aid at UF and tell them you are deciding between schools, but FSU has offered you $$$. They prob won't match it, but they might give you some money. Carol Huber is really nice.

Bully for all you living directly off the blue/orange line who can skate right into work. LOL. When I last lived in VA, I alternately worked off the green and red lines, which required driving to a metro stop or waiting for a bus, then getting to the metro, waiting for a train, switching tracks and then having a brisk walk. Not exactly a 6 minute commute.

I'm now considering leaving the dog with family this summer.
