Where should I go next fall? / what area of law suits my background?« on: March 02, 2012, 11:30:55 PM »
Hi,
I major in advertising and econ. Could anyone give me some suggestions about choosing area of law when going to law school? I don't know what area of law suits my academic background best. I heard that if you want to be a IP lawyer, you must have a tech academic background. I know that's not every case, but it seems that a tech background suits IP law best. Thanks a lot! 3
Law School Applications / Re: What law schools should I apply to?« on: July 19, 2011, 11:43:24 AM »
I think you can apply for all the top14. I have no idea whether it is extremely hard for international students to get accepted by top law schools. Your LSAT score is good, but obviously not significant for top3.
Good luck! 4

Where should I go next fall? / Question about the chance of getting admitted by T14« on: May 30, 2011, 06:28:00 AM »
What is the chance of getting admitted by each of T14? Is it much more difficult to get admitted by T3 than UPenn or UC-Berkeley? I am just wondering if the ranking among T14 really makes such a big difference.
If a person gets 4.0 UGPA,170+LSAT score, should he apply for all T14 schools in order to increase the chance of getting admitted by T14? Generally speaking, how many law schools do you apply for? Thank you so much if you can give me some advice. 6
Where should I go next fall? / Which law school in Texas is a good choice except UT?« on: May 25, 2011, 06:43:57 AM »
All the law schools in Texas I know are UT, Southern Methodist University (Dallas), and U of Houston. Does anyone know about the two law schools in Dallas and Houston?
If I want to work in Texas, is UT the best choice? Thank you if you have any suggestions. 7
General Board / Re: breakup before/after bar exam?...« on: May 22, 2011, 09:20:24 AM »
If I were you, I would wait and tell him that we'd better not see each other in the next two months so that we can prepare for the bar exam well. And after that, I would wait for him to break up with me... I think two months is long enough to reconsider the whole relationship.

Where should I go next fall? / why do you want to be a lawyer?« on: May 10, 2011, 04:49:41 PM »
I am still not quite sure about why I want to go to a law school and to be a lawyer. I know it is a prestigious career, but life of a lawyer can be very tiring. I am afraid that lawyer job is not creative and boring.
So, why do you want to be a lawyer? Can I change my career even if I really become a lawyer one day? I mean, are there any other careers related to a law degree other than being a lawyer? For me, My dream is to have my own restaurant, but to be a lawyer seems a more realistic choice to me. 9
Where should I go next fall? / Question about scholarship and job after graduation from law school« on: April 25, 2011, 05:47:01 PM »
1.If I want to apply for scholarship, am I supposed to apply for it at the same time while applying for the law school or after admitted? I am just wondering if all law schools work in the same way.
2. My friend told me that if you want to get a job after graduation from law school, you'd better go to a really good law school. If I went to a law school with a low ranking, like 67, does it mean I can't get a job in a law firm after graduation? Coz U of San Diego Law School ranks at 67 and I like to work in San Diego or CA area. So I am wondering if I went to U of San Diego Law School could help me get a job in San Diego after graduation. Thank you so much if you give me some suggestions. 10
