Where should I go next fall? / the scholarship magic number

I find it amusing that of the acceptances I've gotten, I've only heard about scholarships from three schools - all the Illinois schools I applied to. And all three of them (Illinois UC, Chicago Kent, and DePaul) offered me $20k/year. That seems interesting, since they vary pretty wildly in ranking / apparent quality.

Is 20k a cap at some places? I have to admit, I'm really surprised that Illinois offered me as much as DePaul. But I guesss if I decide to go to one of those, that makes the decision really easy.

(Why does the best school have to be in the middle of nowhere instead of in the city though? Blegh.) Still hoping to get some money from Vandy. (If I'm lucky enough to get in by the skin of my teeth somewhere better, I'm not expecting anything.)

Anyone else have speculations about scholarship weirdness? It seems like most others I've seen have a pretty strict negative correlation between school ranking and scholarship offered.

And unrelated, but I finally got my diploma from my masters (graduated in May), which apparently got lost in the mail or something six months ago!

In today via that scary-small letter!

They should really know better than to send tiny white envelopes with acceptances, lest they give their potential students a heart attack...

It's the best school I've gotten into so far, and I'm pleased - but mostly, I admit, because I think that bodes well for my future applications. Because whereas it's a great school and I would go there if it's the best I get into - I'm from Atlanta and am DYING to get out of the south.

But the fact that a SCOTUS clerk this year came from there is pretty cool.

I'll probably go to an admit day, because it's the only school I've applied to in driving distance!

It seems like a good school, but I'm really not sure I'd want to live there for three years; I'm definitely more of a city girl.

In today via email! Made me happy too, since there's no mail today. Postal holidays stink.

It's the first school I've gotten into that I might actually consider if they throw money at me.

I'd have to visit Cleveland, though, I've never been there. Only been to Ohio once, to go to Cedar Point, flew into Akron though...

Anyway, am still hoping for a T20, but I wouldn't be unhappy if I ended up somewhere like Case. (Though I admit, the thought of living in another city without good public transportation makes me kind of sad.)
