Not sure if it has been included yet (too lazy to read entire thread), but I really hate when people use the word "irregardless".

"Momma Bear is gonna kill me, cause I used the last roll of toilet paper" :-[

Most of the people I know are hoping I go in to Criminal Defense, particularly since I will be living in Vegas and they frequently visit that area. ;)

I'm not a musician, but I have managed several indy bands and recording artists. I may consider doing Entertainment Law, but truly undecided as of yet.

Picking up chicks at funerals rocks!!!

[For every time something on the off-topic board has made me want to stick something in my eye, someone from "our" board has posted something really insightful and inspiring.  I've gotten to share this crazy ride with some incredible people, and I'm kind of bummed that we won't all be going to school together at the end of the rainbow.

Agreed. But maybe we can periodically stay in touch with one another and continue lending moral support throughout the next 3-4 years. We can call it networking. I think it would be cool to have attorney friends located all over the country.

As for me, I'll likely be in Vegas for a long time after LS, and if any of you other respectable members (particularly the non-trads that Jolie speaks of) finds himself/herself (or a friend, relative, etc) in need of a colleague to help "what happens in Vegas, stay in Vegas", you are welcome to look me up. 8)

rev reminds me of one (or more) of my Brother-in-Laws.

I just turned 39 and I have 3 kids

So, I will be attending the Boyd School of Law at UNLV begining in August 2006 (evening). Yesterday, I received my course schedule via U.S. Mail. Actually, the school has provided a tentative schedule for all 4 years. Here is what I will face during 1L:

FALL 2006
Mon/Wed 6:15pm to 7:40pm - Contracts I
Tues/Thurs 6:15pm to 7:40pm - Civ Pro/ADR I
Tues/Thurs 7:50pm to 9:15pm Lawyering Process I

Contracts II
Civ Pro/ADR II
Lawyering Process II

Summer 2007
Lawyering Process III
Family Law

My Contracts class will be taught by Hon. Bruce Markell, a U.S Bankruptcy Judge who clerked for Justice Kennedy  (while he was on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals). Judge Markell was also a Bruce W. Nichols Visiting Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and practiced law in Los Angeles for 10 years before leaving a partnership with Sidley & Austin.

My Civ Pro/ADR professor will be Ms. Jean Sternlight, who graduated from Harvard law school (cum laude)in 1983. At Harvard, she was Editor in Chief of the Harvard Civil Rights - Civil Liberties Law Review. Prof. Sternlight is She is co-author of a casebook on mediation and co-author of a forthcoming casebook on alternative dispute resolution and also a forthcoming book on arbitration. She is also the Director of Boyd's Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution.

I'll tell you, getting this info yesterday really got me pumped for LS. I can't wait to start!
