I heard over the weekend. Only autoadmits have heard so far. I think the others will start coming out after apps are due in March. Good Luck.

Backseat of my mom's van on the way home from vacation. Grandmother, stepfather, and brother were in the car too (Thank God for blankets!)
Outside in the rain during a tornado. (Well, the tornado wasn't literally in sight, but there were several in the area and the sirens were going off.)

I went to Memphis for undergrad and am going there for law school. It's not a bad school, despite the reputation the city has in certain parts of the state. The campus is safe, and it has less crime than UT Knoxville. The campus is also in a decent part of town. The law school building isn't good at all, I'll agree. As for the faculty and quality, Memphis has higher bar passage rates than anywhere else in Tennessee (including Vandy). It has a good regional reputation if you want to work in the area.
It also got 2nd place in the country in one of the national moot court competitions and is incredibly cheap for a law school.
Dang. That dean's daughter thing always screws me. Seriously though, thanks. I do want to stay in the area, but I actually don't want to even leave Memphis for a number of reasons (wife, house, church, politics, etc.) Memphis has a really strong reputation in this area and since I will practice here anyways I'd rather not leave.
Anyone have any idea what sort of numbers it takes to get a scholarship to the University of Memphis (especially a full scholarship?) My numbers are 167 LSAT, 3.89 undergrad GPA, 4.0 graduate GPA, strong personal statement, ok letters, lots of extracurriculur type things. Vice-chairman of the Shelby County Democratic party, teacher, coach, sunday school teacher, and others. Any thoughts on the chances would be great. Thanks so much.
