Where are the Iron Chefs?! I declare this poll invalid without proper representation of the true stars of Food Network!

Another week goes by with no response so I'm still at 8. Its kind of upsetting since I was ideally hoping to use my break for visits rather sitting at home checking the mail. Oh well, dings will give me a good excuse to have a beer... for that matter so will acceptances. By the way is it normal to apply and never hear a word from a school til they send you an acceptence letter or does their silence mean I'm gonna get the big blow off.

I don't think the plagarism he described would keep him from taking the bar would it?

He could take the bar, but chances are he'd fail the character and fitness portion if he hadn't disclosed it on his application.

I'm starting to think that the trick to dealing with these problems is to apply primarily to safeties, not conventional targets. :-\

You really think the bar would outright fail him on character and fitness because of this one event? I know they are thorough and they can be strict, but I've gotten the impression that they are pretty forgiving if its something that happened a long time ago or if its something that was an honest mistake (like not disclosing something you should have, as long as you are forthcoming once you do know)

Law School Admissions / Re: GPA concern

It is also my understanding that they do not weigh as much because pretty much anyone who finishes grad school has a good gpa. However, it isn't worthless. I would rate it as a soft factor on par with post undergrad work experience. How you do in regards to grad GPA is most likely equal to varying degrees of success in the real world. If you need to improve your hard factors, at this point all you can really do is retake the LSAT.

I'm a massive splitter that got my apps out late as well. Its not that I feel that adcomms are taking particularly long in deciding (heck, I pry have at least 2-3 more weeks before I can even hope to get a decision), but nonetheless every passing day is causing ulcers, a desire to drink, and ill-advised "desperation" apps to lower and lower tiered schools.
