Minority Topics / Thank You: The Simpsons!!!
« on: November 10, 2010, 02:47:47 AM »
I love the Simpsons. I am not at both ends of the spectrum, or fans who think the show used to be great and now it is terrible, or fans who think it is even bigger than ever. I am somewhere in the middle. I think for a while the Simpsons was the most intelligent and funny writing on television. It is no longer at this level, but Simpsons is still smarter than most of what is there. It is a very good achievement after all these years. I m biased in favor of the first episodes. I even like the first season. I am not worried about the crude animation or the fact that Homer is voice had not yet paid for their possible revision. Like the first episodes, because at the time of Springfield is a parody of a small town or neighborhood in the United States. As the Simpsons continued, it became increasingly clear that Springfield has Hollywood. producers famous friends began appearing in episodes of being shamelessly flattered, had more jokes about the entertainment world, then Matt Groening began making appearances.

Minority Topics / The Tribe is a post-apocalyptic TV series
« on: November 10, 2010, 02:46:32 AM »
The Tribe is a post-apocalyptic TV series primarily aimed at teenagers. It is set in a hypothetical near-future in which all adults have been wiped out by a deadly virus, leaving the children of the world to fend for themselves. The Tribe's focus is on an unnamed city inhabited by tribes of children and teenagers. It was primarily filmed in and around Wellington, New Zealand. It debuted on Five on 24 April 1999 and quickly gained a large fan base. From 1999 to 2003, five series and 260 half-hour episodes were produced. Raymond Thompson felt that "although the trinbe was still performing well, the cast was getting too old and the series was beginning to stretch the core proposition." They felt the characters were not kids fending for themselves without adults anymore.

General Board / Make for an Interesting---True Blood!!!
« on: November 10, 2010, 02:44:59 AM »
True Blood is an HBO drama set in 2009 Bontemps, Louisiana. Focused on Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress with telepathic abilities and her relationship with the town and it's inhabitants. One in particular, Bill Compton, with whom Sookie has an immediate connection with- is a vampire that has given up killing humans for blood and went "mainstream" by drinking a mass produced synthetic blood called True Blood.
I found this show to be very intriguing. Filled with what I'd like to call country innocence and a host of zany characters with other unique abilities. It makes for an interesting watch---True Blood.

General Board / Add U, Entourage!!!

all that fame, fortune, luxury, and let go to his head, agents, directors, publicists, and all others who lie, entourage cheat or steal to get a piece of you, and remember your true friends. These are all essential ingredients that make  Entourage very entertaining as well as a boat when you think how based in reality. I take entourage as a warming; the entertainment industry is where I started to get my feet wet. There is much truth in this piece of fiction: either everyone wants a piece of himself or does not know his name and you can not spend a minute of your time. In my short time dedicated to dealing with people in the industry on both coasts, I have found more than flips and the ego out of control than I can count. Entourage did an excellent job exposing the dangers of life in Los Angeles while still managing to present them in a very nice way.
