thanks goes out to all the ppl who make it possible for this thread to stay alive. without your comments, our world would be one of thoughtful discourse and understanding....if you had any familiarity with those concepts, this board would not be what it is: a fountain of hate-o-rade.

this weeks quote:

I was kind of in the same situation as you a few months back (Yale vs. NYU$$$). If I had to choose between those schools, I would have to say TAKE THE LSAT AGAIN!!. Please take my advice to heart. With some real dedication you can get that LSAT score you really want. Remember, "Rome wasn't built in a day", so set those goals a little higher and aim for Ivy!

Ron Shivenstein you are a bastard. the op started a thread about her dilema, attending hofstra ft to uop pt. now i would assume most ppl would bring up the pros and cons of each school, what decision her personal situation would merit and so on and so forth. some would even bring up similar situations to perhaps provide guidence.

But our friend Ron Shivenstein takes it to the next level. i want to believe he truly thinks he can help, but as we all know, jerks just love to talk about how prestigious they are. i am beside myself in rage that this guy. he just seeps with elitism and self importance. he knows nothing about the op's personally history, yet implores the op to LSAT again, he even says it from the heart... as though she MUST listen to his advice or face the dreadful future. getting into an ivy is a great accomplisahment, but for us mere mortals we must deal with the situation given to us as we see fit, and his elistism brings nothing to the board. this guy is trash and belongs in the trash. worst off...you messed with a great friend of mine, which mean you can never be forgiven.

Ron Shivenstein you are a bastard. you're answer is trash and belongs in the trash. i dont see how you can relate to bollywood esq position at all on any level. you have been marked. search around you have been nominated for the most pretigious award on the board, and this is something im sure a person like you would appreaciate.

when i was a more trite asnd self important person i would have nominated the op for the jerk award.

I really really really do not want to leave LA (bf is here).  After law school I want to go into biglaw in LA.  That said, which school should I go to?  No money at any of these schools except $10k at Pepperdine.

Cornell and UT Austin are in very undesirable areas for me.  UMich is still undesirable but a little less so.

HELP!!

Seems like U Mich, you will kick yourself if you turn down a T14 for a TTT.

snot-faced moron alert :o

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: USD '09
« on: June 01, 2006, 12:59:50 AM »
I have lived in sd my whole life. I even just graduated from sdsu and will be going to usd this fall. this city is great, but its still rather small and the social scene is not as great as LA. usd is basically the only game in town when it comes to law school, so you're i good company.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Loyola PT vs. Southwestern FT

Do any of you know when the deposits for Loyola are due? I ask because I figure by then Loyola will have a clearer picture of what is going on, I NEED TO GET OFF THAT WAIT LIST!!!  ;D ;D

you and me both...and the 600 other ppl wanting to cross the velvet rope.

i suggest sending off more letters of rec and another personal statement/ letter of interest. this late in the game i doubt it would hurt much if you sent something at least proofread and remotely structured and coherent.

i have nothing bad to say about usd at all (i did not apply), but i can answer questions people may have about Loyola. i am a rising 2L there. for me, personally, it was the right choice.

where do most law students live? is it spread all over la?is there a lot of competition in your section? do ppl have a chip on their shoulder for not getting into ucla or usc?
