I really really really do not want to leave LA (bf is here).  After law school I want to go into biglaw in LA.  That said, which school should I go to?  No money at any of these schools except $10k at Pepperdine.

Cornell and UT Austin are in very undesirable areas for me.  UMich is still undesirable but a little less so.

HELP!!

Seems like U Mich, you will kick yourself if you turn down a T14 for a TTT.

snot-faced moron alert :o

I have lived in sd my whole life. I even just graduated from sdsu and will be going to usd this fall. this city is great, but its still rather small and the social scene is not as great as LA. usd is basically the only game in town when it comes to law school, so you're i good company.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Loyola PT vs. Southwestern FT
« on: May 31, 2006, 09:08:53 PM »
Do any of you know when the deposits for Loyola are due? I ask because I figure by then Loyola will have a clearer picture of what is going on, I NEED TO GET OFF THAT WAIT LIST!!!  ;D ;D

you and me both...and the 600 other ppl wanting to cross the velvet rope.

i suggest sending off more letters of rec and another personal statement/ letter of interest. this late in the game i doubt it would hurt much if you sent something at least proofread and remotely structured and coherent.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Loyola or USD???

i have nothing bad to say about usd at all (i did not apply), but i can answer questions people may have about Loyola. i am a rising 2L there. for me, personally, it was the right choice.

where do most law students live? is it spread all over la?is there a lot of competition in your section? do ppl have a chip on their shoulder for not getting into ucla or usc?

all i wanted was the chance to pat myself on the back...i guess i'll never have my moment in the sun. see what happens when you exclude ppl? they get jealous bc they ar enot prestigous ;)

78
bonkers you have been nominated for an extremely prestigous award. im sure you of all ppl will appreaciate the exclusivity of such an accolade. search around and find out where. i thought better of you too, i truly did.

Party-pooper... criticism is not prestigious.

oh this is all fun and games isnt it?

79
EDIT: I decided to add prestige for T21-T30 schools. You've earned it!

time for hateorade.

well yes, bc though most of us feel that academic and personal success is relative and that ones own definition of excellence can ultimately only be answered by oneself, its nice to know that bonkers approves of their existence. EVEN 21-30!!! has earned the right to be called pretigous...i mean...they EARNED IT!!!, everyone else must die. we might as well put them on trains, send them to camps and say bye bye.

is this just me or does this poll just seem a bit self congratulatory for essentially being one yard too short of the touchdown? hasnt anyone who's ever wanted to be a lawyer and got into law school deserved a pat on the back? doesnt this poll triviaize everyone else's hard work?
