Incoming 1Ls / Social Life in Law School...
« on: March 14, 2006, 08:46:19 PM »
Essentially, is anyone else worried they're not going to find friends in law school? I'm moving away from a really awesome group of friends no matter where I go, and I'm totally one of those people who neeeeeeds a social life. I guess I'm hoping it'll be like the first year of undergrad where everyone is really open to meeting new people and its pretty much okay to revert to little-kid-like "Will you be my friend?" situations.

I just don't want to have no one to watch Project Runway with.  :-\

So...does everyone else have these fears or am I just a consumate loser?

Heh, I'm trying to make the decision between Hastings, USC, and BU as well...although if UCLA would get back to me they'd enter into the running. I'm not sure what to think about Hastings as far as salary, because I know 2 people who've graduated from there, one with a starting salary of around 60k and one with a salary of 120k. I'd love to stay in CA and SF is my dream home, but Hastings doesn't seem to have that great of facilities, plus I was looking at apartments in Boston and I could get a pretty awesome place for what would get me a shithole in SF.

I got the waiver and I got waitlisted...I'm thinking its because I didn't do any of the optional essays.

Thirded, on the not wanting to wait for the death knell even though it was my top choice...also waiting on UCLA (what is their deal?!) but seriously considering USC otherwise.

thank you for that. I really want to go there but lots of people have been raising eyebrows at me, saying I can't handle the weather and that it's too isolated. I think it sounds lovely. and I can't wait to get some rad fur-lined boots which I've always wanted but can't wear because I live in california, but in ithaca it will be PRACTICAL and COZY SO THERE HATERS. ha.

Totally. I told my friends that if I go somewhere with snow I'm going to buy Ugs and they can't stop me.

Ding...has anyone who called been admitted?

Sad sad sad.  :'(

I had to ask whether they could possibly tell me the decision after the woman said that the decision had been made.

I sent my app in 12/1 and didn't send any additional stuff in so complete sometime after that...I don't really keep track of those sorts of things, which seems to make me a minority on this board. ;)
