Just wrote "the Court of Appeals' decision is appealing"

Giggled (in public)

Felt ashamed

Appalling.

Has anyone in the history of ever actually liked Corps? I don't know a single person who has anything good to say about it.

I loved it!  I still say "I'm having A Revlon Moment" on a regular basis!  My prof was cute and charismatic.  There were bow ties and snarky comments.  Very good times.

We called it jurisdiction stripping.

Words matter, people!  I am a very literal person!  I have only limited natural-language type processing abilities, I think.

Court-stripping: not as much fun as regular stripping, and a lot scarier!

Is this a sports reference?  Or some new waxing technique?

Reminder!  Statutes are sometimes dumb.  To wit:

Under 26 USC 152, a child who is supported by the taxpayer but who is not, in fact, related to the taxpayer is (confusingly) a “qualifying relative” instead of a “qualifying child.”

I would just like to say that my color-coded tabbing of my copy of Immigration and Nationality Laws of the United States is really awesome.

Woowoo!

does anyone have any dad app recommendations?  (not FB, etc.  we're just starting to work the internet.)

That one where you shake the phone and it tells you where to eat?  Urbanspoon.

Also, the NYT app (not the mobile site) that downloads the most recent stuff so that you can read it offline.  And the more cowbell one, of course.

It's not my fault I'm good with words and efficient!

You should provide a footnote to that effect!

Not having a real paper to write this semester does leave me hankering for some excessive footnoting.

I am working on an assignment where all the graded stuff is in the footnotes because we're supposed to footnote all of our research steps.  I'll end up with like 70% of the content in footnotes!  Whee.

Should be subjected to Rational Basis "with teeth"* at the LEAST.

*I suspect this is not how other people's profs describe this.

We used "with teeth."  Sex discrimination cases.  Teeth is totally part of the vernacular.

You win some, you toothsome?

I hate life!

Ditto.

<--- suffering monster case of EAS (Extreme Avoidance Syndrome)

Did you know you can avoid doing work by reading books about how to stop avoidance behaviors?  It's fantastic!
