Jobs!  Getting them, quitting them, fretting about them.  They're such a big deal!  It's really rather unpleasant.

it can be very hard to watch.

Yes!  I guess I wasn't expecting that.  I don't know if I expected it to be more cartoonish or something, but... yeah.  Intense.  No wonder our parents (er, for some of us) are so odd.

My life: exciting.

Productive, anyway?

So Mad Men.  I watched the first three.  I don't know that I can handle all that misogyny, racism and intense neurotic-icity.  Even the smoking grosses me out.

I only know about NU.  I don't get the impression that they place a lot of people in international human rights organizations.  However, one of the clinic options is an international human rights program: http://www.law.northwestern.edu/humanrights/

You can also do senior research on a topic of your choice with a professor of your choice, if there is somebody whose work interests you.  In addition to the clinic faculty, check out:

Finally, I know at least one student did a practicum abroad working in the Hague.

OMG BEST APARTMENT EVER

Congrats!

OMG, people walk down the streets in bikinis here.  I don't think I can deal!

Oh dear.  This would be funnier if it were a sitcom or something and not your life.  Perhaps you could start a blog that will get you a book deal that will make you millions and that you will use to fund your own real work?

I had to correct my "distinction" statement because i worded that wrong. The comparison is between Texas and Berkeley and all of those other schools.

So the applicants are guaranteed not to pay more at Texas or Berkeley than at those other scxhools...that is what I said in my original post. And, it is true...according to Montauk's book. You guys should look at it before you make these judgements.

Also false at Texas, in my experience.  My impression from talking to other students was that people did usually end up paying the same or less at Texas--so definitely different than Goalie's experience at Berkeley--but there's no "guarantee."

I do think Texas was pretty generous with matching aid and was quite flexible with what it considered a "peer" school a couple of years ago.  So while they never made a "guarantee," your chances of getting matching aid were very good.  Perhaps they just had a lot of money at that particular time.

(a) and (b).

(b) may be enough.

I apparently should never be a judge.

Wait, I knew that.  But now I have more reasons.

You underestimate me.  On the seventh day I curse, realize I have legs, pull myself up by my bootstraps, and make my way to the wine store.

Now there's some fine American pluck right there.
