everyone has such cute pups
I hope we can find some other fun dogs to play with when we move... we got a house with a great yard, so I figure that's a good way to get to know people, dog people anyway, invite them over to run in the yard (the dogs, not the people)...

at the UVA admitted students days about 15 people mentioned their dogs to me... which is great, because my two monsters are definitely coming with me! (along with their snacks...er, I mean, friends...the cats!)

Got the Cornblatt email, too
Oh well, I really love where I'm going, it just would have been soooo much easier to stay in this area and I have grown up always thinking of Georgetown Law... but it isn't meant to be, sigh.
I am going to let them know to just release me from the waitlist, I have to make my plans for my life now.

Near DC for me... and moving down there a few weeks ahead as well. Looking forward to meeting some folks before school starts! I am very antsy to get this whole thing started!

I am definitely curious to see what happens with those who just got emails, I assumed they just went out to everyone left on the PWL, at least... maybe there is some segmentation? hm.
damn, after the middle of june, I'm not going to be able to change my mind... just wish I could figure it out sooner rather than later! I'm sure you are all in the same boat!

Thanks, Roxy and Manfraz. I kind of figured the talk of traffic was coming from a different frame of reference.
And Roxy, your comment just gave me this little ephineny. "No one else does say that. Why did I never notice that?"
ha ha, it is funny, I didn't notice I even said it until my parents came out to visit and I kept saying that we needed to get on "the 80" and my mom made fun of me for saying it
I have mostly dropped it since moving back for the roads out here, but when I think back to CA, it's all "the"...

I am going to live farther from campus, too. I have lived in SF and the Washington, D.C. area... and so I know traffic!
I haven't been down in that area much during regular working days, but really, traffic's a joke. People complain and it can get congested, but coming from LA, you'll be surprised. (pleasantly)
There definitely can be bottlenecks and such, but I'm used to an hour plus commute each way every day, and have had at least that for most of the last 5 years, so there's nothing c-ville can throw at me that I can't handle
I think you'll be fine living a little farther, it can be a pain, but I plan on spending my days like work days at the campus and then coming home, so it's not going to be that much different than what I have now.
(and I love that you call it "the" 250 and "the" 29, everyone here made so much fun of me when I said that after my CA stint, ah, the 5...)

I'd rather go to UVa if it were all about me, but I'm non-trad and have a "family" and already live in the DC area. We love c-ville and I love the school, but in some ways it would just be easier to stay here... maybe my not getting in is a blessing in disguise, tho. we are basically all set to move, so unless I hear something soon, I'll pull myself off of GULC.
