Are the straps on the booq bags comfortable?

Not sure what to buy. Want something good for the computer, also good on my back... not really sure how many books there will be.

I was kinda looking at the Merrell Rapid Pack II, but it's a bit pricey (around $100 locally).

Any opinions on good backpacks?

Try Booq

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Michigan waitlist
« on: June 23, 2006, 11:13:59 AM »

I just got in today--phone call (I had previously received the "assessing interest" email and also a call yesterday asking what my plans are and how interested I am in Michigan). I am currently 99% sure I will accept the offer (sight unseen). They've just been so classy through this whole process, and when you ask them a question they actually find out and get back to you! Imagine that!

Marvin and Jolie, are you guys definitely going to Michigan?

Me too....but rolly bag.....ugghhh

ugh and i have a really bad back already.  the dir of admissions for my school recommends rolly backpacks but im not sure i can bring myself to do it.  ebags has some decent ones.

I'm happy to report that I have a realistic-looking acceptance letter in hand from Michigan.

3.1/178 (168, 178)

Maybe they meant 20-25% of the people who actually end up on the summer waitlist.  I'm sure there will be some people who decide to withdraw instead of going on the summer waitlist, and some people who do opt to stay on may withdraw later in the summer.  So they offer it to around 300 intially, and then if only 100 remain by the end of the summer, the 20-25% is based off of that.

20-25% doesn't really seem to jive with numbers that we got earlier.  When I first called after getting on the waitlist, they said that normally they get 500 people on the waitlist, of which I think 300 got to the SSW.  Of the 500, I think they they let in 40-50 last year.  ..if I recall correctly.  So perhaps it was a typo and they normally let in 10-15%?

I couldn't help but chuckle at that part.  Been there, done that (for a really large firm) is definitely not a luxury.  I want that year of my life back   ::)

Having had the luxury to work as a paralegal at two small firms before applying to school

Anyone going to use Outliner 4.0?

When my mom finished looking through the album, the first thing she said was "how come there aren't any photos with you in them?  Why didn't you pose next to the school?"

Insatiable, I swear.

Thanks for posting those, goodnews!  I brought my camera along last month, but was so overcome that I neglected to snap a single shot.

Looks like you had great weather for your trip.  And I know what you mean about Hogwarts -- I kept reading that in current students' blogs, and didn't get it until I was there.

I did the exact same thing.  When my mom asked to see the pics, I was pretty embarassed.  The most Hogwarts-y place of the whole quad is the LC dining room, I think.  There's something very fantasy-esque about eating a bowl of cereal in a room like that, with the long tables and all.

Anyway, great pics, thanks goodnews.  Almost makes me wish I could have summer started--I don't think it will be quite so lovely come February.
