Ok taking into account the fact that you can't/won't defer, and you don't want to starve yourself to death paying for it w/ your student loan money, how about getting an extra private educational loan from Citibank or Bank of America?  I think they let you borrow up to $30k, so you can take out the $20k and pay all the CC's off at once.  Obviously the interest accumulation will suck, but hey, $20k in CC debt and school starts in a month.  What other choices do you have.

Just to clarify how I got my info, I called LSAC and they said that the score from Oct '01 would be completely purged from your record in late July.  I asked b/c I have an '01 score as well.

Should be purged by late July.

Haha, no brain tumors, sadly, just never developed a work ethic in high school and needed a fire lit under my ass before I realized how to take notes and study. I've been raising it pretty steadily since then, so hopefully the admissions offices look favorably on GPAs with upward trends.

Only on LSD, my friends.   ;)

Haha my thoughts exactly.

god damn I really wish they hadnt made this change, this really hurts my chances before I even take the frigging LSAT the first time.

The scale for september will be super steep from retakers... add that into the fact that my GPA isnt so stellar, and is now being counted as more important... and Im not so happy right now

I wouldn't be so concerned.  There are tons of retakers at every administration of the test, every year.  Sure there may be slightly more in September, but retaking isn't just walking into the room 3 months later and automatically expecting a higher score.  There will still be people who don't think it's worth the time and effort to retake, even with the new policy.  You still have to study again.

Man below 3.6 is considered low?  Anything above a 3.4 is high to me...you know..since I have a bright and shiny 3.16.

I agree somewhat with the poster above.  After reading it I didn't really get a sense of who you are.  It's also a little dry.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: UCLA v. Fordham

This really is a tough decision and I agree with another poster that you really need to go with your gut.

That said, if you're planning on marrying the guy, 3 years isn't that long to be apart (you could spend your summers in nyc) if you're going to be spending the rest of your lives together anyway.

Can you try to petition Loyola to let you in for full-time?
