The person to talk to is Natali Kun (kun@mail.law.cuny.edu)- she maintains the roomate/housing list. I can forward you the emails she's sent me when a new entry was put on the list. email leestetson@gmail.com

I'm done work a week from tomorrow, and I can't wait any longer! I feel just like I did 10 years ago when I was graduating highschool. I need to get a copy of Alice Cooper's "School's Out For Summer" and blast it my last day in the office.

I agree- I'm trying to get a taste for ramen noodles and cheap beer again! I've been living in a college town since undergrad so the lifestyle isn't too foreign to me, but I do know the 'regression' feeling.

The seat deposit is $500, and they seem to grant extensions liberally. I'm not sure if the deposit is binding, but it is definately non-refundable.

With regards to Craigslist, people usually don't start posting ads for roommates until about a month prior. If you are looking for July 1, I'd say start looking at the end of May.

SF- I just went through the apartment-hunting stage myself, and I'm trying to get rid of a bunch of my belongings before I move (Vermont to NY- not exactly SanFran to NY, but still a move!)- I was using Craigslist, but I just needed a room to move into. I found a nice place in Long Island City, close to Astoria, and right on the NW (10 mins to Manhattan and about 40 mins to school). If you are just looking to find a roommate, Craigslist is the way to go.

Just sent out my app to the SLI today.

Can't wait to be all moved into my apt and ready to start school. Moving logistics suck!

Congrats MeowMix- attending?

Ugggh- I forgot how annoying it is to move. I haven't moved out of state in 8 years! So much to do, so little time.  :-\

Never tried... I just clicked the link you posted and it took me to some CUNY site to log in w/ SSN and name. I entered the correct information, but access was denied.

I will be giving a call to the financial aid office this week. I know I keep asking this question, but any one out there starting the process for aquiring private loans? Experiences? Advice? Let's keep this post progressive and active.

In other news, I got an application for the Summer Law Institute in the mail. Anyone else? I am probably going to apply, but not sure if I would accept an offer into the program. I have an enormous amount of personal events taking place early/mid August... I also want to keep myself from sliding into poverty this early in the year  :-\

Just asking because I live in Vermont and grew up in Massachusetts, and the laws in both states are very liberal (both with Republican governers!). It seems CUNY has a large gay community.

Even though my career interest is healthcare/medical law, one of my "pet" interests is civil rights/liberties law, and I think that sexual-preference rights is in the forefront of the civil rights battle in our generation.
