I have a question about Law Review Write In Competitions.

What exactly is a CASE NOTE?

It's hell on earth as we know it.  Seriously though, a "case note" is a paper analyzing a recent opinion and what you think its effect is on the current law in that jurisdiction. In a case note, you're expected to analyze not only the current opinion, but prior opinions in that area of law (you'll be given these opinions in your closed, competition packet).  Further, you're expected to opine as to whether you think the opinion is a good one or not and why.  This is especially critical:  you must always take a side.  The type of objectivity you find in an objective memo is not what you're supposed to write here.

Moreover, if you think the opinion is good/bad, you can't just say it's good/bad for the very same reasons the court/dissenting/concurring opinion said:  it has to be an original idea (in other words, critical writing).

I like OneNote.  I find it more managable than word.  I don't have to have separate documents, nor do I have to deal with one huge document.  I can search through my notes for an entire course just as easily as searching a huge word document, but it's more organized and accessible than one large doc.

Student rates make it pretty affordable.  The only snafu I've had is with the printing function, but the new version coming out soon hopefully fixed that.  Also, you can't make table in OneNote, so I just make them in Word and insert a screen clipping.

For those that have taken a Bar Prep course and passed your Bar, do you think Bar Prep courses are necessary or can you pass the Bar with dilligent studying the same books.

Is it the Research or Writing that you hate.

Me personally its more the Writing/Analysis, that I cant stand,(presumptive agruments, TREAT, syllogisms)

The research is actually fun sometimes. I dont know, but thats just me.

Im already reading for Torts II.

1st semester was learning the ropes of law school.

Next semester is perfecting those skills learned.
