Transferring / UConn or Maryland?
« on: June 25, 2010, 04:36:45 PM »
I recently got accepted to UConn and Maryland as a transfer student from a tier 4ówith a 3.75 GPA (3%).  I am from New England (not Connecticut), and would like to practice on the east coast.

Both schools are fairly similar in most respects, although Maryland appears to have some slight benefits from a numbers perspective.  Has anyone transferred into one of these schools or currently attend that can give me a little more information?

I only have a few weeks to make a decision.  I am almost to the point of flipping a coin because of how close these schools compare.

If anyone could provide any information or insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Transferring / When to apply

I know some schools vary on this, but when should you apply as a transfer student?  I know schools will need 2 semesters of coursework, but should I wait for those grades to come out and send my application or should I send applications in earlier without that second semester transcript?  Thanks for the input.

Transferring / Re: Advice on transferring

Thanks for your input.  After doing a little more research, I am also considering Franklin Pierce and Quinnipiac University.  Anybody have any thoughts on these schools and which school has the better reputation or provides greater opportunities to practice in New England?  Thanks.

Transferring / Advice on transferring
« on: March 04, 2010, 08:08:53 PM »
I'm currently in my second semester at Cooley.  Yes, I know the reputation they have.  I currently have a 3.88 at Cooley, undergrad GPA of 3.91, and terrible LSAT of 147.  I'm looking to transfer after this semester, and really looking at Northeastern.  Any thoughts from somebody that goes there or transferred in the past?  Also considering Penn State, Hofstra, and St. John's.  What are the chances of getting in at these schools and anybody know what the financial aid situation is for transfers?  Thanks.
