General Off-Topic Board / help!! buying first suit of my life
« on: June 24, 2006, 05:49:24 PM »
sooo i figure its about time to get a suit.. (i got through formals and stuff in college by borrowing from my friend who is the same height/weight and has the same ridiculously long arms)..  I will probably have to interview at some point next year.. are there any particular colors that I should be getting? Also whats the difference between suits, how do you tell them apart? They all look the same to me. -Thanks

Thanks, I think I will love it too.. and aside from my friends and academics, I hated cornell.. About uris.. I thought it didnt turn into that color because of some law passed during the clinton administration that prohibited something in the air?

wow Duke is prettier than Cornell?  I really cant imagine any campus more beautiful than cornell... with its waterfalls and all

In terms of architecture and landscaping, definitely. Cornell has some extremely ugly buildings, in fact...Uris Hall and the Engineering quad, for example. Duke's buildings are consistently amazing. Ithaca is unquestionably more scenic than Durham, and to the extent that you have views of Ithaca's gorges, waterfalls, etc from Cornell's campus, it can be quite breathtaking. By "campus," I was referring more to the University itself than the outside area, though. Including everything, it may be more of a toss up between the two. You should see Duke sometime, though. It is amazing.

very interesting... yea do u know the story behind Uris Hall?  It was supposed to be the prettiest building on campus.  I should have at least visited Duke, just had too good of a feeling bout Michigan..

yea id go to cardozo for big law.. anything else go for the money

i think cardozo is a cut above the other schools, its a law school on the rise with some great faculty, increasingly strong student body and an unbeatable location.. the only thing i would be worried bout is price.. taking on a large debt that will arise from tuition + high cost of living in NYC is something to consider...

Yeah, the phrasing of that sentence seems to imply that they are charging $15 full version of Windows XP Pro. That quite frankly is bananas (compare $299 for the full version and $199 for the upgrade verion on bestbuy.com). But since they put it on the website, I'm sure they've made up their minds...which is fabulous for us! I may even splurge and buy Office for both Mac and Windows, since its so cheap through the school.
The Umich computer showcase sells the full PC version of Windows XP for $12, so $15 doesn't seem that outrageous.  I got my XP for $12, my office XP for $45 and one note for $50 (not that big of a discount).  I don't think their computers are a great deal but the software is hugely discounted.

check out the deals on the z61 lenovos, those are pretty outrageous
