Hi all. I really want to make sure everyone has a place to post questions, comments, and news relevant to their school. If you don't see a board for your school, I'd be happy to create one if you use this thread to suggest your school.
Suggesting a school, however, if pointless if you don't intend to post anything about it. This isn't a game of "think of law schools" (the ABA has a list of law schools already). Rather, this is a place to DISCUSS. At the moment, you might be the only person on this board with something particular to say about a school. That's okay, but please post something when I create a new board for you.
As things grow, I'd like to have a student from each school moderate each board, but we have to get a discussion going first.
I know vault.com is a good resource for getting information on law firms (salaries, hours, etc).
See Vault: Law Firm Rankings:
Does anyone know of any similar resources? Is there something similar that has info on medium and small firms?
By request, here is a transferring student's board. This is in the students section of the website because you have to be a law student before you can transfer.
This fact shouldn't limit the discussion to current law students. Understandably, a lot of pre-law applicants are interested in transferring even before starting school. Feel free to discuss that interest here.
I've noticed LLM students and applicants popping up in various places around the site. While you should feel free to post anywhere, I'm creating this category to provide a specific place for LLM related discussion.
Right not we'll keep it broad. In the future there may be boards for specific types of LLMs.
If you don't already have a law degree and you're interested in discussins admissions to JD programs, you should not post here. Instead, visit the Pre-Law board:
I have to say - so far the second semester sucks. Partly this is because I am out of practice (two weeks - no law) but also because the cases seem to be more confusing and the assigments more intense. After talking to some 2Ls at my school, it sounds like 1L second semester is going to suck. Is this the general consensus? Are there any law schools that use the quarter system (also called tri-mester)?
