the reputed collegial environment is part of what made bc law so attractive to me and it is good to hear firsthand that the rumors are true :)

on average, approximately how many hours/day did you study during your 1L?

what are you (or most of your fellow students) doing for work this summer?

the t42 is what i was looking at too. 

however, once i configured it to include a 3 year warranty as well as the hard drive and memory offered by the multimedia bookstore dell, i was looking at a $3000+ computer and it wouldn't even have a complete warranty.

so, i've decided to buy the multimedia dell from the bc bookstore.  i think i'm going to place my order today  :)

thanks for the update on pcsforeveryone...i guess i am going to price an ibm and either go with that or with the dell through the bookstore...

well, as of right now, i am leaning towards the bookstore computer because it seems like a good deal and i love the complete warranty.  i've always been a mac girl so i feel clueless in my attempts to comparative shop among pcs.

however, the consensus seems to be that dells are pretty crappy computers, so i've been investigating ibms as well as the pcs from that company you recommended in cambridge, pcsforeveryone.

thanks for the input, i didn't know that a complete warranty was also available if i purchased dirctly through dell!  a 15 in screen would be nice, but if i buy a dell i will probably go with the bookstore just because the price is so great.

lol...i probably need the complete warranty...i spilled a glass of water on my laptop once during undergrad and the keyboard broke.  i just told the tech guys that the keyboard *mysteriously* stopped working and they fixed it under my warranty    ;)

i'll be a 1L at bc this year too and, as i waver between the bookstore dells and other options, i am wondering if any of you have decided which laptop you are going purchase?

hi, i was just accepted of the bc waitlist, so i will be opening up a spot at american this week.  i hope that my spot turns into an acceptance for one of you! 

and by the way, i don't know anything about that july 1 deadline...they haven't even mentioned another deposit since i gave them my $700 on april 15th.

I still haven't heard anything (and neither have any of the bc pwlisted posters on xoxohth)

i called yesterday and the woman i spoke with said that they were just starting to review pwl files and that selected candidates should start to hear sometime in the next 2 weeks. she was polite but abrupt and did not even give me the opportunity to identify myself.

i wouldn't worry too much yet b/c it seems as though only one person received a call and rumor has it that bc was short on their projected deposits this year...
