ok, so after holding my application for 6 months, ohio northern finally rejects me.  wtf

Ohio Northern Sucks I sent in my application in early Feb and they still haven't gotten back to me. I'm not going anyway, but still refuse to let them off for free. I paid for that application and i'm going to make them work for that money!! Plus 7 acceptances sounds a lot better than six, 7 is a lucky number  ;D :D

;D  I can't believe you still have outstanding apps out there and you are already attending law school.  Hilarious.  Absolutely hilarious.

I know !! I'm writing a brief for a contract case right now as we speak! I refuse to give Ohio Northern that satisfaction I mean, they should at least waitlist me, but to just keep me hanging is just rude and non- professional. So i'll let them play around with my application some more and waste some more of their so called precious time!! I could have also kept my waitlist open @ st.Thomas, but I felt that I wanted to be nice and give someone the opportunity to go there who really wanted to. I actually know someone from LSN who was waitlisted to and really wanted to go so I called and asked him he could have my spot. They said only if he is the name right next to mine (hopefully he was) How is your cycle going?? Any plans for August yet??

Can't complain.  I got into all of my targets and safeties, on the waitlist for my reaches, rejected from all of my super-reaches  :)... but praying for Notre Dame to come through.  Although, right now it's between Miami and Brooklyn, leaning more towards Miami, though.

Are waitlisted people really taking the LSAT again in June to improve their chances?  Does that work?

Yep, some retake.  As far as whether it works, we shall soon find out.

General Off-Topic Board / Re: That Paris Hilton Song

I think I like the song... not sure if it's just because I'm surprised it's not bad and I thought it would be.  To be fair, studio help or not, most singers voices are enhanced in the studio.

The video: looks like a commericial marketing a new perfume for sluts.

A little harsh, but I tend to agree. :D

I may very well be at Miami this fall (they have a seat deposit)... After facing the same decision as the OPs, I chose it over Hofstra after doing further research regarding job placement, deciding where I would want to be the next 3+ years and visting both schools, I chose Miami.

Hofstra is a fine school.  However, there is just way too much competition coming out from higher ranked schools in NY and the T14 even if you end up in the 10% of your class at Hofstra. And graduating in the top 10% is a lot easier said than done from any institution. Unless, you know you want to work on Long Island upon graduation or you're not concerned about job placement and starting salaries(you'll be fine regardless), then choose Hofstra.

If you are the least bit concerned about job placement, alot more firms recruit from Miami and Miami's rep is well regarded in the South of Florida.

You also can not completely ignore the rankings, Miami is climbing and Hofstra is declining and is now a T3 school.  Job placement, bar passage rate and peer assessment, are factored in.  I also heard that Hofstra puts all of their scholarship people in the same section.

For the OPs it comes down to this, where do you want to work upon graduation and where do you see yourself the most happy for the next 3+ years?   If you haven't visited both schools already, you should, asap, they are completely differently.  I also felt having to choose between the two, I would be more happy at Miami as well as more likely to be employed upon graduation.

You can be a small fish in a big pond (Hofstra) or a large fish in a small pond (Miami).

??????

Put down the Crack Pipe.

Excuse me? Is there something you don't understand about my post, feel free to PM me.  Do you go to Hofstra, and feel offended? Everyone knows that no-one is knocking down any doors for Hofstra in NY.  Unless perhaps, you plan on staying on Long Island.

I can see waitlists becoming very active after the June score release date.
