Yep, what a shame.

Indeed it is.

Are you going to ND?

Doesn't look like it...just a single hot law chick a male notre damer will not get a chance to date. :-*

Wait List / Re: Notre Dame "provisional list"
« on: July 25, 2006, 01:28:19 PM »
As much as I would like to remain optimistic... it doesn't look good for us, unless there is some divine intervention  ;).  With that said, the word is that ND has 214 students enrolled for the incoming class when their ideal class size is 175-180  :'(

At this late date to have nearly 50 students withdraw would be highly unlikely....

Who told you 214?

I guess it's word on the street...xoxo  However, I am likely to believe it because of the context it which it was brought up and ND has yet to pull anyone else off the waitlist that we know of.  In addition, I too called, and I spoke to 2 different people. I was told the class is full, and they did not seem optimistic about pulling anyone off.  It is pretty much day to day with them.

Oh, you won't be screwed by CSO. There are plenty of 3Ls who'll assure that your OCI at least goes tolerably well. It's next year's incoming class that's overcrowded that'll be in trouble, when X employers are looking for Y slots but find Y + 20%Y applying for those slots.

Is next year's class overcrowded? I helped out on Admit-Days and noticed there were like 800 admits.

Go to InsideND and check the class schedule to see how many are enrolled in each 1L class.

Holy crap you're right. 214 is huge. What's normal, like 150? Was this increase planned?

Target is 175-180, I believe. And given the state of ND's facilities coupled with the fact that they were offering cash for deferments like candy, I can only assume no.

Have they started rejecting people off the waitlist?

anything......and go!

Thanks for withdrawing hopefully, it will help out the waitlist. Do you know approximately how many others took advantage of their generous offer?

Not to be a Debbie Downer here, but if they're offering scholarships/fellowships to people so they'll defer, I really doubt they'll be dipping into their waitlist.

Normally, I would tend to agree.  But from what I am gathering, yes, they did overenroll... too many males... and that there is a lack of diversity for the upcoming class.  Not sure if any of this accurate, but I am hoping there is some truth to it and they are trying to balance it out.

Some people delete because they do not want certain threads reappearing in their unreads.  If you posted in hundreds of threads and they are still active, it can be quite annoying when you check the unreads. ie "Add a Word"...
