I just heard differently. Georgetown deffered my application for re-review in 2 months. Ding!
It's not a ding! They probably are going to wait and weigh you against other URM's who are applying later in the cycle. Good Luck!

Is it pretentious to contemplate in print about our impending decision in the Acceptance board?
Nope. It's called positive thinking. We are all in unless we hear differently.

quote author=The Spanish Teacher link=topic=47628.msg898413#msg898413 date=1133985430] the mail man has come and gone with no word for gulc.... i went decision last wednesday. the suspense has lost its novelty and is simply causing agony at this point. euthanize me. please.
amazing? do you live on a remote Alaskan island or something? I can't imagine mail taking that long. Then again, maybe they decided to wait until this past Monday to actually send out the letter?
If Andy is still putting personal notes on acceptances, that could explain the delay...At least that is what I keep telling myself, I went to decision last Thursday, I live in NY and no mail yet.

My question is...why are G-Town's PT stats on lsac.org at 3.18-3.71 and 160-166 and on LSN no one accepted last year had under a 162 and rarely under a 3.4 GPA???
Is my 3.4 and 160 a lost cause for PT?
You must not forget LSN is a self-selected group in which people also lie. I am pretty sure the stats for LSAC are much more accurate. Therefore, you are not a lost cause and Good Luck.

still at decision and still no letter. . .this does not bode well.
I said it once and I'll say it again. Georgetown does not seem to send out "ordered" acceptances and rejections for EA. They are all mixed in. Not hearing yet has most likely nothing at all to do with your chances... especially if you only applied within the last 5 or 6 weeks.
We read you loud and clear... However, who has received a rejection yet? Let's face it, they are due.

'Twas the night before Ding-mas, when all through the land 0Ls were waiting for decisions, but nobody could understand Their apps were sent in early, from far and from near In hopes they'd gain acceptance at somewhere by New Year The applicant nestled all snug in their beds While visions of Toby Stock danced in their heads And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled down to wait for the mailman's cr*p When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my beer pong game to see what was the matter Away to the window I flew like a flash, False alarm, just the neighborhood dealer selling his stash Back to getting drunk, what else is new But I'm gleaming with optimism that an acceptance is due Another days has passed and still no letter Why am I still writing this, I should know better
A True LSD Classic.

See! I just can't gauge that school! Thanks 4 the explanation. Now can you predict what these recent DECISIONS are going to be, since no-one seems to have received anything in the mail yet? I would've preferred to stay COMPLETE and just got a decision in the mail when I wasn't expecting anything. This crap is stressful! How can a school have two (2) Early Decision/Early Action Dates, anyway? What is that all about? November 1 and December 1?
They don't have 2 dates, it just appears that way.
Nov. 1 (this year the 7th) was the date by which you had to apply to be ED/EA. Dec. 1 was the date by which your file had to be complete, which means not just the application, but the recommendations and your LSDAS report and any supplemental essays you might be sending.
Other schools, do not separate it into apply and complete dates, just a complete date (such as Oct. 15th for NYU).

I went to decision last week Thursday, complete 11/1. I live in NYC and I received nothing in the mail yet. I have been looking at posts from last year this time and Georgetown seems to be running their process a little different from a year ago, including extending their early decision deadline, last year they extended the application deadline a whole month, twice I think. I can't gauge what's going on, just got 2 sit and wait it out with them.
