Law School Admissions / Re: Washington & Lee
« on: December 11, 2005, 03:46:52 PM »
I got this e-mail yesterday.  I'm not sure if I should count it as a "complete" email or not.  I applied (and had everything in) over a month ago:

This will acknowledge receipt of your application for admission to the
Washington and Lee University School of Law.

If you are using the LSAC letter of recommendation service, your
letters will be included with your LSAT/LSDAS report.  If you included
letters of recommendation with your application, or if your recommenders
are mailing letters directly to the School of Law, your application file
will be complete once we have received the LSAT/LSDAS report and two
letters of recommendation.

Applicants whose files are completed by February 1 should expect a
decision to be postmarked by April 3, 2005.

If you have not already done so and are applying for need-based
financial aid, please return your completed FAFSA form to the Federal
Processor as soon as possible.

-------------------------------------

If it's not a complete e-mail but rather just your standard "thank you for your application" email, I'd say they're VERY slow over there...

Yeah, I got the same e-mail, and its strange because they requested my LSDAS report over a month ago.

ditto.

If he gets away with it, he gets away with it.  Surely, he wouldn't be the first, nor the last, but we certainly don't have to respect it.

Let us know what happens so we can see what our great nation has created. :-[

hey evantrbl--they had different forms of the test and were seated next to eachother, took parts of the test for eachother

proctor suspected it but really only caught it as they were re-exchanging and so they only got formally writen up for bubbling in the wrong section

both got warning letters for "unusual behavior" but nothing else happened and both got in top law schools

wow I can't believe they got away with that.. and now theyre in top ten schools.. goes to show sometimes you gotta bend the rules to get the edge on your competition..

most of you guys are just hating on ivantrbl's friend cuz he got away with cheating

We don't know if he got away with anything... yet.  And I do dislike cheaters, it tells alot about their character.

Law School Admissions / Re: Yale LSAC Report request

I applied at the end of October, it took them 2 days to request my report, 1 day to get it and 7 days to go complete. That said, it's a lot busier now so you probably shouldn't worry too much.

I suspect they like you.

Yep. Could take 4 to 6 weeks for them to request the report and then another 4 weeks to just go complete and then another 4 to 6 weeks to get a decision. You will be lucky to get a decision my March.

I think your friend's score will probably be held until there is an investigation. Since you said he did it on purpose, hopefully he'll never be able to practice law.

I agree. His law school dream is over in the states.

He is toast because once they review the experimental section if it isn't blank, he probably has a significant number wrong compared to the rest of the sections because he did not devote the allotted time to work on it.  What would be a plausible explanation for that in addition to the proctors statement of what he/she witnessed?  He's so busted.

Check out this site if you haven't already.

This is getting rediculous.  >:( >:( >:(

So I didn't get my newspapers again today, so I called my mail center to see what's up and was told that they don't bother sending someone over to my building to put in the mail when there isn't "enough" to be delivered to justify it.  It's a 90 second walk!  I emailed  the hall director.  Is it just me or is this outrageous?  It could be me...since I really want to hear back from places.  :-\

Can you just go down to your post office and get it?

That's what I would do.

Just wondering... Why didn't you apply to CUNY since you are from NY and as a potential safety this cycle?

Wow  you are the second person to say that?? I think i will really concider it. Do you think it isn't too late??!
apply to uconn.  you have at least a 25% chance of acceptance.  it's a tier 1 school.

also touro in suffolk county (east long island).  good shot there as well.

cuny is a good bet, especially if you've done public interest type of stuff.
UCONN wow that would be awesome, how do you think I actually have a chance there??! NO WAY!! there average LSAT is like a 160.  Again with the CUNY, I think i'll send it in on monday after I get a little bit more cash for apps. God I have soo many!

Good Bet And Good Luck!

Also don't forget, if you bust your butt the first year, get in good with a couple of professors for letters of recommendations,  you could always try to transfer up to higher ranked schools. I look forward to seeing you post on the acceptance board.  ;D
