really the madison winters aren't that bad ... i've been living here for the past five years, and i think it's fine. it must be okay if a good chunk of the undergrad student population are "coasties."

That story is off in the fact that it is from 2005 and states "There’s been a major rift developing over the last few years..." I was an UG freshmen in '97, and I remember it back then. Sort of a culture clash.

As for the winters, it can really, really, really suck at times. But not in March! Hell, this past March there were a couple of snowstorms, but it was gone by noon the next day. Regardless, as someone on the UW "hold list", please withdraw!

Hell... no matter which of my final two schools I end up attending, there will be considerably more students in law school than there were in the little hick-town school I had the misfortune of growing up in. I figure I'll be able to pluck out a friend or two.

Parking at ASU will probably suck the first year. There are a couple lots right next to the law building but generally speaking the older students will get those. There is another lot on the other end of campus, but that will be a bit of a hike. Easily walkable, but on some of those early first semester/late second semester days, the walk will be a scorcher.

After contemplating for months whether or not I wanted to take the plunge, I made the decision to take the December LSAT with only about seven weeks to study while working full-time. I found the Powerscore Logic Reasoning Bible to be very, very helpful on the LR sections. If you find yourself struggling with the games once you start taking prep tests, then get the Powerscore Games Bible. After that it's just about reptition and taking the old tests.

It's a good feeling, because I have no fear of being fired.

That is most definitely a good feeling. I actually gave my noticed back in Feb. that I was leaving in mid-July. For the most part pride in my writing (I'm an editor/reporter) keeps me from completely mailing it in, but just *knowing* that getting fired isn't a concern makes work much less stressful. And I still haven't made a decision yet, but I have it pretty narrowed down.

WHERE IS YOUR DUCK?  Get a duck or turn in your BK membership card

Hey now... I've been the King for several months now. I don't need no stinking duck.

Dude, I've got to say, that Burger King avatar is freakin' scary. In fact, those commercials made me hate Burger King. I was afraid I'd purchase a Whopper value meal, go home, go to sleep, and the B.K. would come and knife me.

Then turn me into a Meat'normous Sandwich that he'd subsequently offer to a lumberjack.

You need to respect the King!!

Yeah, I went. It was good. The reception thing on the first day went a little long, but there were several professors there to talk to. Also, on the second day, the lunch was an hour and a half long, which I  thought was going to be pretty boring but many professors and some 1L and 2L students came and ate with us, so I felt like I got a really good idea of what the place was like. I really enjoyed the mock class, as well. A few of us went out for drinks after the first day, as well, so that was cool to get to know some of the potential classmates.

Of course, I was coming from Wisconsin where it was in the upper 30s when I left, so just being in the sun and being able to wear shorts for a few days was nice, too!

Me too! I received an acceptance notification via e-mail. I cant find anyone accepted on LSN with worse numbers than mine so I may be the dumbest person they let in this year!  ;D

Well, I have your GPA beat! Congrats on the acceptance!

There were no real witnesses. It's that simple. Oh, don't get me wrong... PLENTY of people saw it go down. But no one is talking. The MPD was made out -- justifiably so in this case, I feel -- as a real good ol' boy network that is crooked as hell. The two police officers that did testify for the prosecution were apparently just given hell by the PD for doing so. But there were just no witnesses to back up the claims.

And the PD is lucky (if you can call it that) in that it's not getting quite the local attention it would normally get because the bodies of the two missing children were found dead from drowning, and that is the dominant topic locally right now.
