Canadian Law Students / Re: Canadian Law School Chances...HELP
« on: December 27, 2005, 10:04:46 AM »
I'd say Dalhousie and UVic are both pretty big reaches with a 154, but maybe not impossible. You should have a shot at the other schools you mentioned though. All things considered, I think it makes most sense for you to retake the LSAT, since all of these schools will take your best LSAT score, so you have nothing to lose.

It'll depend on which schools you're looking at. A 3.5 and 154 could probably get you into a few schools, probably UNB, USask. Depending on your soft factors and work experience, you might have a good shot at Ottawa, Windsor, and Calgary. You also might have an outside chance at Western and Queen's, but I'd guess those are probably long shots unless you rewrite the LSAT.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: In at Notre Dame!!!
« on: December 23, 2005, 04:03:49 PM »
Got my acceptance packet today, and was also offered a full scholarship. Makes my decision somewhat harder now (especially because my mom is a hardcore catholic).

Congratulations, that's incredible! I won't get my acceptance package until I get back to school after the New Year, now I have to try not to get my hopes up   :)

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / In at Notre Dame!
« on: December 22, 2005, 07:43:52 AM »
Just got accepted by e-mail, regular decision. The E-mail said an acceptance package is in the mail, but they wanted to let me know as soon as possible. I'm so excited now, my whole family are huge Notre Dame fans. Go Irish!

I'm in! Just got the letter, I was very happy to see that cream colored envelope. It's my first acceptance, and it's definitely a great feeling. I applied regular decision too, so I was surprised at the quick decision. I have now lost all motivation to finish this take home exam that I'm working on. I need to be celebrating!!

jayscoot, do you have a LSN profile? or what were your numbers (if you're comfortable saying of course)?

im in the same boat as you. i was SHOCKED to see the decision that day cuz im not EA either.

I guess that makes 3 of us. I couldn't believe it when it said decision already, since I wasn't EA either. I had to recheck it a couple of times, just to make sure I had read it properly. I guess we're both stuck waiting on Canada Post now, I'm really hoping the letter is here by the end of the week.

Another day, and still nothing.  Been at Decision since 12/2.  They have the correct address.  WTF!

I'm really hoping mine doesn't take that long to get here. Now that I've gone to decision, I don't think I can head home for Christmas until that letter gets here.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the letter gets here soon and I'll have something to brag about at the family Christmas dinner. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but of course that's almost impossible. Good luck to everyone, we're all in this together.

For the folks who applied regular decision and have recently gone from complete to decision, when did you apply?

I applied regular decision, sent in my application November 17th, went complete on the 23rd. I just went to decision yesterday morning.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to my mail box stakeout.
