I'm seriously convinced the schools are all out of acceptances. I mean they're sending out scholarship offers, waitlists, etc, etc. Just over the past few days, Umich, UVa, and UT all started sending out WLs. I'm losing hope...fast. This coming week is my last week or all hope is lost for me.  :(

Actually, I think Greyhound gets you to Charlottesville from DC about as fast as the train does, and is probably a little cheaper. If you fly into DCA, there is a metro stop right in the airport. The greyhound station is only a few blocks from Union Station. I've never actually walked from one to the other so I don't know how "nice" it is, but at worst a cab ride would only be a few extra bucks.
Pretty ghetto. I did the walk once at night with a friend and we could probably call it a muted panic jog. I'd do the walk if it was daytime, I looked the part, and I didn't have any bags... but I wouldn't recommend it either way. Metro or cab.

The walk is absolutely fine during the day. It's actually a straight 5-10 minute walk down 1st street I think. I would concur with dcforlife though and definitely advise that you not do the walk if it's at night.

185! (yes, they make exceptions) Aww too bad you didn't write it or it would have made it all the more enjoyable.

In the same boat..I have nothing to blame but laziness...I am quite sure I could have increased by score since i scored way below my average.

General resident wait-list with sub-25th percentile numbers, non-URM. With Chiashu giving me a 4.9% chance of acceptance and frankly being an auto-ding, I'm really surprised. I would love to get into UVa but this also gives me some hope for other schools more within my range--maybe they liked my soft factors/PS.

Wow this site really needs to get a better hosting server.

I wonder what the hierarchy is for WL? Is it:
Priority resident, general resident, priority non-resident, general non-resident

or is it:
priority resident, priority non-resident, general resident, general non-resident?

I live in NC and got my letter today. It was a waitlist...and I'd rather not post my numbers at this time. Good luck everybody.

Edit: SC updated last night as well.

Hmm wow, i should get mine today as well then, as I'm in DC. Was UVa one of your top choices? Thinking of staying on the WL?

Anyone have any guesses at how quickly mail comes from UVA/Virginia in general.  I am assuming today is unlikely but I'm hopeful for Saturday?

Where are you located? I'm 2 hours away from Cville so I'm hoping either today or definitely tomorrow, provided it was mailed out yesterday.
