Law School Applications / Re: Emory
« on: March 27, 2007, 09:06:25 PM »
Hey guys,

It is 99% confirmed.  USNEWS accidentally posted the rankings early!  If correct, Emory is now 22 tied with George Washington.  Up and coming baby!  We were also ranked #1 by Vault for most underrated this last week.  Keep this in mind when you consider where to go... not to pressure you at all...

Yeah, I was excited to see that, though I think it's so sad that USNEWS rankings mean so much to me.

I was going to go to the DC reception (4 blocks away from my office) but I was realllll tired and didn't feel like going...oh, well I think I'm going to ASD anyway.

Wow, I don't know if I've ever seen a thread this active before...

Wow, I also just realized the huge jump for UIUC...it used to be 34 or something, right?

How sad it'd be if we're all obsessing over these "new rankings" and it turns out they were just a screw-up  :P

Though this issue (OP's credibility) seems to have been resolved, I don't think iscoredawaitlist would make this up.

Also, I hope that these really are the '08 rankings and not just a screw up.

just because you can't access it and you got rejected doesn't mean that other people who can't access it also got rejected. Another_Prelaw, for example, got in and can't access it. Therefore, who knows.

Yeah, you'd think most people would get that, especially those who've taken the LSAT. Typical LSAT Logical REasoning kind of situation.

If you had read my post for meaning, you would have noticed I said either a WAITLIST or a REJECTION...UVA's admitted student law forum and application status are tied together. One username and password gets you into both. If you cannot access the forum through admitweb, you are more than likely waitlisted or rejected..

I read your post carefully the first time. My point was just that just because that seems to have been the trend for a very small sampling of applicants doesn't mean it is the reality. You said it pretty much as definitively as one can say it:

"If you cannot access the Law Forum, you are either Waitlisted or Rejected"

No, the current ones are called "2007 rankings." The new one will be 2008.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: BC or Emory
« on: March 19, 2007, 10:59:06 AM »
I'd go with BC. If I had the same choices (which I don't unfortunately due to my surprise BC ding), I'd definitely go to BC. Plus, it's in Boston. If you like Atlanta, then maybe Emory. Also, I think BC probably has better NYC placement.

I have UNC winning it all. I think Oden and Ohio St are way over-rated.
