I just transferred from a T25 public university to a T5. Transferring is not easy. That said, transferring to Georgetown is not as hard as other t14 schools. They take 100 or so per year. From what I understand, you need to be in the top 15% or so to be in the running, but likely much more competitive if you try from GW or American. That said, firms know GU takes 100+ transfers per year, so you (1) are not that special, (2) and may actually not be as attractive as a job candidate relative to other transfers. if you are competitive enough to transfer from GW or AU to GU, it might frankly be worth it to stay there if you get Law Rev or something like that.

Kent by far has the better rep in Chicago after NU and UChi, and is far ahead of Loyola and DePaul (and John Marshall) regardless of what the rankings say.

there is no reason a person should stay at Cooley if given the chance.

People in the top 5% of Cooley transferred to U of Illinois last year and were slammed at OCI because the had that on their resumes.

I am transferring to Chicago as well and they basically said that I need not put a GPA on my resume, but to have a concise statement of how my former school ranked students because we will be asked.

Which do you think is better?

The more I look into it, the more I like Michigan, but my signif other is in Chicago and it would be easy if I got into NU so I could stay here. I 75% will work in Chicago afterward, so I kind of feel like there is not a whole lot of difference between UM and NU for the Chicago market (though I understand it gets bigger if you want to leave Chicago for NYC, DC, etc.)

I applied too. I saw on the TransferApps board on Yahoo Groups that they usually let admits know around July 10.  I really hope so as I got into Michigan and need to reply by July 15... Have any of your friends heard one way or the other about their transfer apps there?
