Hello everybody! I am a soon-to-be 1L and am wondering if I should purchase the digital Black'd Dictionary + 3rd edition in Hardcover package or just the 9th edition in Hardcover. Both options cost about $90 on Amazon, was wondering if the digital version will be useful while preparing case briefs and outlines, or is it just better to purchase the old-fashioned hardcover book.

Thanks and I look forward to your thoughts. Good luck!

Transferring / Does LSAT score matter for transfer?
« on: May 30, 2009, 09:42:08 PM »
Hello!

I'll be a 1L at Rutgers University (ranked T2) this year and want to try to transfer at the end of the year. My undergrad GPA was 3.9/4.0 but I only scored 157 on the LSAT (was heavily involved in the Lehman-Barclays merger and got about 14 days to study for the Feb test).

I was wondering if I should be re-taking the LSAT again in order to have a good shot at: Columbia, NYU, UPenn, and Fordham (around NYC, where my fiancee is). Of course, this is assuming I do really well (top 5-10%) at my 1L.

Thanks very much in advance and regards!

Thanks for your comments guys; Rutgers has been consistently ranked in 70s and a solid T2, not a T3. Syr on the other hand swings between T2 and T3. Thanks anyway all of you, I appreciate this.

Transferring / Need your advice ASAP - please help !!

I need thoughts on whether I should go to Syracuse with a tuition scholarship of $26k (total fee $43k) renewable over three years or to Rutgers (Camden) without any money and out of state tuition ($33k/yr). I am a non-traditional international applicant; I have 5 years of work experience in the finance sector, have an MBA (finance) and want to specialize in corporate law/taxation. My goal is to do well in 1L and hopefully be able to move to Columbia/NYU/Fordham/Cornell/UPenn next year. Will it make a difference when transferring if I went to Syracuse or Rutgers, provided I am in top 10% in 1L at both schools? I have to make second deposits soon, and am really in a quandary. I would love to save $16k by going to Syr instead of Rutgers, but I don't want to jeopardize my transfer chances. Any and all thoughts will be much greatly appreciated!!

Thanks so much in advance!
