Studying for the LSAT / Should I cancel? (cross-posted)
« on: February 05, 2006, 02:00:29 PM »
I just retook the LSAT yesterday, and can honestly say that I have NO IDEA how I did on the test - it was one of the weirdest  LSATs that I had ever seen, with one very tricky LR section in which I very possibly blew most of the section - did fine on the rest of the test though.

I have to start in the fall, and have already gotten into my undergrad (in-state) where I would be very happy attending, but I would like a shot at a few others schools:  Tulane (#1 choice), Houston, and FSU basically.  I have a 3.47 (state school) and a 156, nothing special as far as soft factors.  So, do you think I should cancell my last score, or roll the dice and see how it goes?  I am thinking that I don't have too much of a shot at those 3 with my current stats, but I guess you never know.

Do you guys think I should cancel, or wait for the new score?  Since I have already gotten in somewhere I would like to go, I am thinking that I have nothing to lose by waiting on the new score, but then again, if it is lower (prolly 50/50 could be lower/higher than current score) then I really have no shot at all at Tulane.

What would you do?

Thanks so much in advance for the advise!

Where should I go next fall? / Naughty Case Western....
« on: January 30, 2006, 04:03:40 PM »
I got home today after being out of town for the weekend, to find my mailbox is almost full because of a big package from Case.  I'm like, holy sh*t there is no way I got it...is there?... and tear open the package to find..........another viewbook.  They have already sent me 2.  Law schools should not be allowed to send big packages to people who have ALREADY APPLIED without there being a decision in there!

I think they are just messing with me now.....

Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / LSU
« on: January 27, 2006, 05:56:41 PM »
Just visited, and I am impressed.  Very cool building that was just renovated, big and spacious, computer plug-ins at every seat, wireless everything, and all that jazz.  The law building is on the side of campus, so a very short walk to the middle of everything, but it still seemed like a pretty quiet area (although it was just off of the frat houses).  Law students have their own parking lot too.

The campus had a very laid-back vibe to it, much less fratty than many other southern school, and everyone seemed really friendly and down-to-earth.

The only drawback for me was the fact that it is almost impossible to establish residency after the first year - if you come in as a non-res, you are considered that until you graduate...but tuition isn't too much, and Baton Rouge seems pretty cheap, and LOTS of fun.

All in all, seems like a great place to spend a few years.

Can a school that has already accepted you rescind their offer of admission?

Where should I go next fall? / Obsessing
« on: January 20, 2006, 04:02:29 PM »
Just got off the phone with LSU to set up a visit, and while the woman in the admission office was verifying my name and email, she said "Oh, a decision has been made on your file...but I think you will find your visit to be very worthwile."

I am hoping this is good!  Appartently the letter is dated 1/12, so why isn't it here yet???

Now to start compulsively checking my mailbox......

Which I find strange since I didn't apply.

Weird.  You would think that if they are stalking people, they would at least do it to people with higher numbers than mine...
