Where should I go next fall? / Re: Where should you go? Anywhere but law school« on: December 11, 2009, 12:31:42 AM »
I'm so sick of reading these woe-is-me stories about failing and/or unhappy law school graduates. You go to law school to get credentials for a profession. It's not meant to be a happiness machine. I'll bet most of these unhappy fools originally got into it thinking they'd be rolling in money and Bentleys. If you're coming here for the money, stop now. There are quicker and easier ways to make money. Come to law school if you want to work in law. Everyone else needs to STFU.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Strengthen Questions« on: October 29, 2009, 03:56:29 PM »...Therefore the environmentalist's proposal holds little merit. This is not a strengthen question. Do you see why? Quote A physician who is too thorough in conducting a medical check up is likely to subject the patient to the discomfort of unnecessary tests. One who is not thorough enough is likely to miss some serious problem and therefore give the patient a false sense of security. It is difficult for physicians to judge how thorough they should be. The conclusion is that if you don't feel sick you shouldn't go to the doc. You also know that doctors sometimes perform unnecessary tests. C - who cares if some patients don't trust their doctor. Does that support that the rest of society shouldn't go? D - Doesn't this hurt the conclusion that you should stay home when you don't feel ill? OMG, you might be missing out on a diagnosis for a rare disease! E - what does it matter if they eliminate certain tests? We still know they sometimes do too many and sometimes too few. B - You shouldn't go to the doc if you don't feel sick because going to the doctor means risking unnecessary tests AND "sometimes unnecessary tests cause healthy people to become ill." Looks like a winner to me. 8
Non-Traditional Students / Re: How are single parents financing law school?« on: October 26, 2009, 09:17:02 PM »Although i am not yet attending law school i am preparing to do so. I am a single father with a 2 year old daughter, and as of right now i am the manager of a local grocery store. so as you could imagine i am not making a ton of money but i did find someone that has helped me to realize my dreams and helped me to see that they don't only have to be dreams. I found an excellent and trustworthy financial expert, and with his help i have finally made it possible for me to go back to school and hopefully start earning some real money. Hopefully this can help out someone else as well, i just wanted to share my story since it seems to be similar to many of yours! You seem to be under the odd impression that lawyers these days earn real money. And what, as a single father, attracted you to a financial expert who focuses solely on women?
