Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Boston

I went to undergrad in Waltham. It's not awful. I used to drive several times a week to BU from there, it's  a pretty easy drive down comm ave but there are a few ways to do it. Parking can get expensive. You could take the commuter rail in, or park at riverside which is the end of the D line and very close to waltham.

There is a great Indian place on Moody St., by the way.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't got a chance to explore Moody St. yet, though I went to a pretty good Mexican place.

I might be living with my bf during law school, but if I go away I think we'll take a stab at the whole LD thing. I feel like if LD doesn't work-out then that was the natural progression of our relationship, I'd rather try than just break-up because we'll be long-distance. But if you're already thinking of being single now, just break-up, you'll probably break-up anyway.

I'll probably go to a Boston school too, and my bf just got an apartment (where I'll live) in Waltham, which is next to Newton. It's like 20 mins. outside of Boston and seems pretty nice, the rent is around $1000. But I think I have to switch on the subway to get to BU.

1. It's cold
2. It snows, a lot
3. They would put me in 100K+ debt

Cornell (if you need it)

Vandy's slowness is only matched by how slow my work day is going.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: UVA Deferred > Status Change

Man I hate to say this ( please don't take offense), but you guys are real pessimists. I mean..c'mon, why do you believe failure before it materializes? Don't you have any faith in what you can accomplish if you believe? Not to be preachy,  when I saw some of your posts it made me pretty depressed but I refused to by into the rejection  Miracles do happen but please for future reference, you've got to believe first. Don't prejudge yourselves by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I think its cause probably for many of us UVA was our reach, so the likelihood of an acceptance was around 20%. I wouldn't have applied if I didn't have some hope, but I think, "why get my hopes up if I don't have a good chance?" And I was rejected...

You don't even have a complete from Vandy? Did you get any of their "Where's your X" emails? I got two of them before going complete, which happened quite quickly after everything arrived.

I must have got a complete notice, but it's been 2.5 months since I put complete on my law school numbers profile. Did you get a decision yet?

The long wait doesn't make me happy, but I don't know if it would affect my decision. Though Vanderbilt hasn't said anything to me for two months, I want to call and be like, "did my application get lost?"

When I was a sophomore I took the test cold too and scored a 159. I just took a lot of practice tests and got a book. I set a specific amount of time everyday to take a practice test and go over my answers and apply different strategies. I suggest taking it in June, because I had a lot of time in May without school to prepare. I got a 166 btw.
