Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Utah reject

I'm thinking of Alabama right now; but I'm still waiting to hear from Iowa and Georgia. The more I think about it, the happier I am to leave Utah.

I spoke with the admissions office yesterday. They said that about 200 people are put on the list and a majority decide to stay on. That should be good news for those of us who applied on a whim. I don't know the name of the lady I spoke with, but she was very helpful and had a sweet British accent.

I finally got my acceptance letter; over 2 weeks after my status check said, "decision made."

My online status check said "decision made" two weeks ago. How long does it take to get the actual decision in the mail?

I went complete on January 23rd. Does anyone know any specifics about how Alabama places in Atlanta? If I get in at Georgia State I may have to choose between the two for working in Atlanta. Obviously Georgia State has better placement, but I would rather have Alabama on my resume; it just sounds better.

What are your numbers? I'm trying to figure out if I should put in the extra effort to make me appear to be competitive with those that have higher numbers, or if I should be flattered at just being on the list.

I was put on the list with a 3.05/162. I would love to go to ND, but based on everyone else's numbers it appears that the admissions committee is just being nice to me.

I got the letter on Monday. 3.05/162, and a resident. They were my first choice due to the in-state tuition, but I'm actually happy to be forced out to a new area.
