For me, seeing the early acceptances to Georgetown being all about the numbers (seems like 80% of the acceptances on LSN have been 170+ LSATs, with the remainder being 168+) is causing it to hit home that, gee, maybe soft factors and being an older student don't mean sh*t. Basically, schools don't want diversity, first and foremost, what they want is numbers. Diversity is the filler they grab near the end of the process when they've picked up all the best numbers they possibly can.
The whole thing has also kind of made me wonder whether the whole "apply early" thing is a crock as well. It seems as though all the people getting in Georgetown would have gotten in even if they'd sent their apps February 1.
I need booze.
