this is almost insane. has anyone who went decision last week (thu/friday) received their decision?

i went decision last wed. night or thurs. morning. still waiting. but i'm way out in the middle of missouri. i wish they would just post the actual decision on their status check.

Okay guys, calm down!  It doesn't many *anything* if you haven't gone to decision yet.  Last year's LSN indicates that for early applications, receiving late does NOT mean rejected.  People got accepted every day from 12/1 to 12/15 last year.  Lack of "decision" means nothing.

I'm still probably rejected, but I'm going down optimistically!

Rocketbot - you should get in just for being the one who's keeping his/her wits about him/her. while the rest of us are changing our soiled diapers, you're as chill as jimmy buffet. thanks for doing a little bit of research that calms people down and rekindles some hope.

i also went from complete to decision lastnight. i submitted on 10/31 and went complete shortly thereafter.  but i'm out in missouri, so who knows when that letter will arrive.

Law School Applications / Re: What type of law do you want to practice?

i want to be a governance consultant to third world governments.  the ABA has some great programs that go to third world countries and help them develop more effective laws and transparent institutions.  there are also opportunities via the world bank, the UN and numerous ngo's. one could also set up their own consulting firm.

if that doesn't work out, maybe international trade law.

or anything international

Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Re: gulc pt? Vs. GW

I have a friend at GULC PT now and he is under the impression that it is pretty easy to transfer over after the first year.  You put the paper work in some time at the beginning of your second semester and if you are granted a transfer, you have to take a couple of summer school classes so that you catch up to the rest of the FT group.  also, if/when you transfer over, you can graduate in the regular 3 years.
my friend also pointed out that since all of his classes are in the evening, he has time to do a lot of other things like research for a professor, attend meetings and speeches, etc.  1L's in FT don't have enough time to do all that.

also, regarding GW PT, you can transfer over after your first semester.
