Where should I go next fall? / Scholarship Negotiations
« on: March 04, 2010, 08:56:46 PM »
So, I am currently debating about going to two different schools. The first is one I will probably go to regardless, but they gave me less money than the other school. The other school gave me a total of 15,000 more. Anyone have any experience negotiating scholarship money? I was debating whether to send an e-mail or to set up a meeting. Any advice will be great!

Thank you everyone for the advice. I really appreciate it. Some of you raised many good points; I want to get into the highest ranking school I can, but tuition also plays a major factor in what I am capable of affording. I was barely able to finish out my last year of undergrad because I could not get enough financial aid. And I have also thought about working my butt off during my first year and then transferring to a better law school. I know it is a long shot, but it is worth a try. Again, thanks guys!

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Last minute problem with arguments.

The one's I keep having a tough time with are the arguments that ask for a parallel argument... Or one's that ask for similar reasoning/flaw in reasoning...Any advice?

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Where to buy real past lsat tests?
« on: September 24, 2009, 05:29:33 PM »
LSAT.ORG and go to their shopping section. They are a series of books that contain ten actual LSAT tests in each. I just got another a few weeks ago and they were ten dollars cheaper... Or you can try Borders and Amazon. Borders often sends out coupons so check it out!

Studying for the LSAT / Re: 2 Days until September Test Day!
« on: September 24, 2009, 05:25:35 PM »
I am very nervous myself. I have been taking practice tests and my scores are all over the board. One second I am in the high 160's, then I have gotten in the low 150's as well. I am just going to try to remain positive, keep my head up, and kick its ass. I can't wait until its over though... I hate being nervous. Good luck to you all!

I am completely nervous about applying to law school... I live in Ohio so I have limited choices on where I can go. My GPA is not the best; I messed up my 2nd year and it ruined my GPA (and ever since being on the Dean's List barely raised it). And I got in the low 150's on my LSAT. So given this, I pretty much should decide between Dayton and Capital. But I know both are ranked very low. I wanted so much to go to Case Western, but my 2nd year ruined that chance. Any advice on what I should do, or any other schools that I should consider (and that I have a chance of getting into)? Also, does applying for early decision help your chances? Someone told me that applying to Case as an early decision may increase my chances... And I am retaking my LSAT in Sep.

Studying for the LSAT / Powerscore weekend class?
« on: March 27, 2009, 02:04:44 PM »
Unfortunately, I cannot afford taking the Kaplan full length LSAT course. However, I just found out that Powerscore offers a weekend course that I can afford. I was hoping someone could tell me whether it worth doing? Thanks!
