General Board / Re: Cardozo student housing Question
« on: May 29, 2009, 03:27:18 PM »
I've heard pretty good things about it... very nice location... although i hate mice!!  do you know if it's a big problem with many apartments?  I got assigned to an apartment on the 5th floor... I'm still deciding whether to take it or not.

« on: May 11, 2009, 11:36:11 AM »
Hello,

Does anybody know anything about Cardozo's student housing "The Alabama"?  The size, conditions of the building/ apartments?  Has anyone lived there who can give their opinion about it?  Thanks!

Wait List / Columbia Waitlist (First Reserve)
« on: May 11, 2009, 11:32:34 AM »
Hi,  Has anybody heard back from Columbia who was on the First Reserve list?  Does anyone know the chances of getting accepted into Columbia's JD program off of the "first reserve" list?

I'm trying to decide between Cardozo or Brooklyn Law School. I received scholarships at both schools, 26k at Brooklyn and 28k at Cardozo.. Does anyone have an opinion? Any thoughts on how the two schools compare?

Where should I go next fall? / Re: BLS Grad taking questions
« on: April 03, 2009, 02:10:18 PM »
Hello cannotpick,  I've been reading through this thread and it is very informative and you give good insight on the BLS experience.  I am currently waiting to hear back from a few schools still and am on a few waitlists (Fordham and Columbia. I have been accepted to the FT program at Brooklyn Law School and St.John's.  I received about half tuition scholarship at BLS and a full scholarship at St. john's.. i have visited both schools at their admitted students day, and I liked the feel at both schools. I am having a hard time deciding.  Do you have any thoughts between these two schools?  I know BLS is higher ranked, but have heard that job placement is roughly the same.  I am not too familiar with Brooklyn or Queens.  I went to NYU for undergrad and have been living and working in Manhattan for the past few years.  I would most likely move to be near the school that I attend.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Rob.  Can anyone give any views on Brooklyn Law School?

Thanks for everyone's input so far!  RobWreck,  how do you find the student body at SJU?  Is it very competitive to get into the clinics/moot court/and law review journals?  Do you think it would be difficult to keep a scholarship at SJU after the first year?

The conditions with the full tuition scholarship at St, John's for all three years is to keep my grades in the top half of the class, or else lose it all together.  At brooklyn law, i received over a half tuition scholarship for the first year. It can be renewed to the second year 100% if grades are in the top 40%,  will be renewed 80% of the amount if grades are in the top half, and 50% of the amount if grades are in the top 65% of the class..  I liked the area Brooklyn law is in since it's right by the courts and one stop from Manhattan, not sure how safe it is though.. I'm not familiar with Queens, obviously more suburban and I'd need a car and would need to find an apartment somewhere off campus...  Brooklyn seems a little higher ranked than SJU, but I'm not sure how much that matters..
